Abasiama had to appear before the dreaded Cameroonian Gendarmerie brigade in relation to certain allegations of witchcraft initiation. I have the greatest joy to bring to your awareness the battle that my family and I along with the church had to engage in during the rocky but rewarding month of June. In the midst of this anti- WAM attack, three rugged souls were reached for Christ. Permit me to identify with the prolific New Testament writer as I have come to realize that "in all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in [us] will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus". Now I want you to know, dear WAM partners, that what has happened to me (unfounded allegations, threat to life, embarrassment and humiliating persecution) has really served to advance the gospel in Limbe. As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole city and to everyone else that I am persecuted for Christ. Because of my humiliating persecutions for preaching, most of the brothers in the Lord here in Cameroon have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly.
