「願上主祝福你,保護你;

The Society of St Vincent de Paul, founded in Paris in 1833 by the Blessed Federic Ozanam, is an association of Christian laypersons. The Society spread rapidly through France and to the entire world.
With Saint Vincent as our patron, the Society aims to aspire towards an evangelical life through practising virtues of charity. Its chief work is to visit the poor, irrespective of race and creed, in their homes to endeavour to help their social and religious lives, the education of poor children and medical treatment for the sick, and to encourage them to stand on their feet again. Other work of charity which express themselves through frequent person-to-person contacts with those who are suffering morally and materially is also undertaken.
In HK, the Society was established as early as 1863. Currently, including our Parish, there are 30 Parish Conferences under the HK Central Council doing the aforementioned services in their respective Parish. The Central Council also runs a nursery school in Kwun Tong and a community centre, the Ozanam Centre, offering a range of services including free Chinese medical consultation and acupuncture services to the needy.
The main source of income of the Society is from donations. A door collection will be conducted after Mass on the second Sunday of each month to raise funds for our services. The donations will be centrally deposited to the HK Central Council and allocated to each Parish Conference on a need basis. As the Society is also a registered charitable organisation in HK, donation receipts for tax exemption purpose may also be issued upon request.
Our Conference was formed on 25 January 2011 and is on the learning curve in the delivery of services in our Parish. We very much need your advice and support. We will be more than happy if you can be part of the Vincentian family, either as full or associate member, to help achieve the Society’s objectives.
