Edward Loper, Jr. was born in Wilmington, Delaware in 1934. He is a self taught oil painter who describes his technique as "A way tosee." His use of vivid color and visualization has lead to a successful careerthat spans more than five decades.Curiosity has been one of the primary forces driving Edward’s artmaking. Many images in his work originated from play and otherordinary everyday activities. Since the early 1960's, Edward's works have been showcased not only inthe prestigious Barnes Foundation, but also in numerous nationalexhibitions, cultural festivals and publications.Edward Loper, Jr. taught art, photography and woodworking atWilmington High School in the 1960's. He also instructed art, potteryand sculpture at the West End Neighborhood House and KingwoodCenter. In the 1970's he headed the Visual Arts Department atChristiana Cultural Arts Center.

Supplies:

Instructions:Draw buildings on the bottom half of the pageand sky on the top half. Starting at one point on the page draw onecontinuous line through the sky and buildings.Loop the line around the page to createsections in each of the buildings and the sky.Color in all the sections with different shadesof the same color (for example light and darkpurple). Repeat for the sky and each building.
