AnesthesiaThe Anesthesia Residency Program is a S-year
strustured program that aims to train residents tobecome a competent anesthesiologists. The
program will adhere to the CanMEDs competencies.Anesthesiology is a medical speciality responsible forthe care of patients prior, during and post surgical
procedures, labour and delivery and certaininterventional procedures. ln addition, residents areexpected to develop unique skills and knowledge to
support or lead the provision of resuscitation, criticalcare and pain management.
Clinical Biochemistry is a branch of medicine that is concerned with thebiochemistry and metabolism of human health and disease. The clinicalbiochemist is expected to manage the activities of a biochemistry laboratory inhospitals. He/she is a consultant to his/her colleagues in other specialties oninterpretation of the biochemical tests and investigations and management ofpatients. A clinical biochemist is a clinician who can work in various areas,including cardio-metabolic prevention, clinical nutrition, clinicaltoxicology,inborn errors of metabolism, etc.
