The provincial document‘A Framework for Frenchas a Second Language in Ontario Schools’ states:
“High levels of engagement in FSL by adult role models in the school, home and community highlight for students the value that is placed on learning additional languages, especially French, in Ontario.”
GDHS Capture Rates
Parents and students from coterminous boards recognize the value of GDHS’s unique advantages
Boundary 20/20 left Glengarry with a 35% reduction of its catchment arealeaving Laggan as its only feeder school
Despite this change, Glengarry has been able to attract 95-100% of St Finnan’s Catholic School elementary graduates
GDHS is a destination for upwards of 20 students a year who graduate from one of the French elementary Boards and switch over to GDHS in Grade 7 or Grade 9
