• Bruce, a Norman French name, originally referred to ‘woodlands’

• A popular baronial and place name in Scotland (‘Robert the Bruce’)

• Popular in 1950s and 1960s

• Everett, an Old English name, derived from ‘strong as a wild boar’

• All of the first-born grandsons of George Everett Seney (nine of them) were given the middle name of Everett

So what does the first day with Teacher Candidates look like?

• Session lasts for 1.5 hours

• The past focus has been orientation and get-to-know-each-other activities

• Because of the reduced instructional hours for EDUC 316C, it is suggested that the session be an introduction to the Communications course followed by a very brief overview of EDUC 311
