Managers say:“Every company should have a Year in Industry student. They work at a level beyond their years and have the potential to save companies literally thousands of pounds." Steve Vickers, Deputy Managing Director of Kawasaki Precision Machinery (UK) Ltd

“The Year in Industry programme gives great benefits to both parties. For the student it is a valuable stepping stone into a career and their time at university. For the company, we gain a resource that can be focused on specific projects that will improve the efficiency and cost-base of our business.” Mike Cullum, Centrax Ltd., Newton Abbot

“The benefits of involvement are numerous to both trainee and the business. By exposing potential future graduates to the company at his stage, there is a greater chance that they will return for full time employment within their existing locality. There is also the value of word of mouth passed across during the academic semesters, both avenues helping to reduce the cost of recruitment. The enabling of a good assessment of the trainee by the company and vice versa, a means to a future stable working relationship.” Barry Johnson, Engineering Team Leader, BAE Systems, Plymouth
