Unit 2 Read AloudThe Purpose of the Read Aloud is to
model fluency in reading and to share the pleasures of books.
Interaction at the time of a read aloud is important for the student
and teacher to discuss meaning and for the teacher to model reading

Independent writing opportunities such as daily journals provides regular opportunities for students to explore and experiment with the writing process and demonstrate their own abilities to act as authors. This activity helps them to establish a connection between reading and writing.

Unit 2 Guided Reading
Guided Reading is used to support students in the learning of the reading process as well as helping them to learn and practice their various reading
strategies (Does it make sense , etc.)
The students read texts in small groups at their instructional level. This level has been determined after appropriate assessment has been made using
the running record method.
