DAM Summary

• Seven DAMs executed so far (summary of this week below)• May 7- (80% scenario)

– With constraints– Average LMP = $5– AS Insufficiency for RRS and RegDn for several hours– Procured hourly average of 22,000 MW/hour of Energy

» Some large single variable block bids, ERCOT would like to see more realistic curves or delivery points to break up offers

– Deemed invalid due to modeling errors (more on next slide)– 100 QSE participated on May 7

• May9- (120% scenario)– With constraints– Average LMP = $65– A/S insufficient for RegDn for one hour– Procured hourly average of 36,000 MW/hour of Energy– Deemed invalid due to modeling errors– 104 QSEs participated on May 9

• Issue with Current Day Report so ERCOT to email DAM LMPs

DAM Summary

• DAM systems update– Modeling issues are excluding certain Resources and Settlement

Points in DAM solution• Settlement Points

–    HB_HUBAVG,  HB_BUSAVG, LZ_BEPC, LZ_VFT_LAR• Jointly-Owned Units• Reminder that workaround was sent to QSEs with Load Resources with new

Resource names that can be cleared in DAM

– Constrained solution yielding low, in some case negative, LMPs• Not valid LMPs from errors in manual modeling of busses to Settlement Points in

MMS network model• Focus is on MMS4 network model

– EIP 1.14 set to release today• Sandbox migration- 5/22• EDS migration 5/29

– SASM will be to procure additional 300MW of UpReg• For HE 1800-2000 on Trade Date 5/14 and 5/16

• QSE will be able to update Self-Arranged AS from 1000-1100 on 5/14 and 5/16

• QSE will use 300MW additional RegUp against QSE Load Ratio Share

• Option to Self-Arrange or allow ERCOT to procure

• Email will be sent with details to EDS4 contacts

• Notifications not in place, so SASM is pre-arranged in this manner for these 2 tests

• Same submissions, just different timing and validation rules

Update on next phase- EDS4 Initial DAM/RUC 4.9.3 Testing (con’d)

– Reminders below to involve business in building bids and offers

************************– For testing purposes there will be guard-rails on data, but it will not scripted by

ERCOT• So QSE BUSINESS INVOLVEMENT IS CRITICAL for reasonable pricing and business

activities

– All QSEs (with and without Load and Resources)- • May submit a limited amount of DAM Energy Only Offers and DAM Energy Bids

that do not represent actual Resources or Loads (virtual bids and offers)

• QSEs can only bid/offer up to 500MW total

• Bids/Offers should net to a position of up to 200MW

• It is important that the submitted bids be reasonably priced for producing appropriate prices and results.
