Pick Up / Drop OWe are very thankful for everyone exercising patience with pick up and drop o. To keep things running smoothly, please be sure at drop oto park and walk your student across the lot if you are unloading from a trunk, etc. Extended time in front of the doors causes trac to back up. At pick up, please be sure to park in the spaces or continue to pull up and fill empty spaces. This will help alleviate trac on the road and get you out of the lot and home more quickly and safely. 7th Trip to Cedar Point! The 7th grade students from Shore and Memorial will have the opportunity to go on a trip to Cedar Point on Thursday, May 16, 2019.

Details are as follows:

•Depart SMS at 9:00 AM•Arrive back to SMS at 8:00 PM•$70 per student which includes lunch•Sign up due date: Friday, March 22 at 3:45 PM◦ Permission Slip◦ Payment◦ Annual Update

▪ All three must be turned in for sign up to be valid

If your child has earned two ASRs or a Saturday School or a Suspension, they will need to win an appeal hearing in order to go to Cedar Point.•Behavior Appeal Dates◦March 25 - Meet w/ students that have to appeal.◦March 27 - Letters from students due.◦March 28 - Appeal hearings.◦March 29 - Inform students of results.

Eighth Grade Parents/Guardians Scheduling for the 2019-2020 school year is underway.  Throughout the next few weeks, 8th grade students will be receiving information about Mentor High School course offerings, scheduling and graduation requirements, and the transition to high school.  Please encourage your students to continue these discussions with you at home and review this information. Mentor High School will be hosting an “8th into 9th Grade Transition Meeting for Parents” on Wednesday, January 30th, at 7:00pm in the Mentor High School Fine Arts Center.    We hope that you are able to attend this event. 8th Grade Party Plans are under way for the 8th grade party which will occur on Monday, May 20, at the Lost Nation . The cost of the trip is $25. Please keep in mind as mentioned earlier in the year that behavior infractions may cause students to miss this trip. Washington, D.C. Final payments for the Washington, D.C. trip are due on Friday, March 15, 2019. Please keep in mind this is the Friday during Spring Break. All payments are made online. Thank you!
