In between activities the residents participated in looking at old photos of the Edgewood Heights building and past residents that once lived there while enjoying ice cream sundaes. We also had Sam and Charles watch the football game together in the Common area. Our resident, Bonnie, and Activity Director, Cheyanna Wright, worked for three days to finish a beautiful puzzle together. Edgewood Events October was originally the eighth month of the Roman calendar. It comes from the Latin word "octo", meaning eight. It became the tenth month when January and February were added. Columbus Day, the second Monday of October, is a national holiday and celebrated in many countries of the Americas as the anniversary of Christopher Columbus’s arrival in America in 1492. Halloween, which occurs annually on October 31, has been around since Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as a time to honor all saints. Soon, All Saints Day incorporated some of the traditions of the ancient Celtic festival Samhain. The evening before was known as All Hallows Eve, and later Halloween. Over time, Halloween evolved into a day of activities like trick-or-treating, carving jack-o-lanterns, festive gatherings, donning costumes and eating sweet treats. Daffin Candy Bars
