Overview
Edexcel BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma in Music (QCF)
The 2 year full-time programme has been designed for musicians, by musicians. It is designed to
evaluate potential, develop understanding of what is required from the students to compete in
today’s music industry, to cognitively understand how their potential can be achieved and to learn
skills appropriate within this aim.
During the two years, the learning experience is designed to be a transformative experience in terms
of allowing the learner to truly visualise for the first time what can be achieved, how it can be
achieved; with the help of the tutors who are all professional musicians working in the industry, the
first priorities to be achieved while studying on the course. This will include starting a small business
as a professional in the music industry. It is therefore designed so during this developmental period,
professional work is sought for and gained, with entrepreneurial advice being given constantly to
allow the learner the confidence to take possession of their own earning; and eventually their own
destiny.
