Our students are making the most of this fine weather. They have been watching the newly installed birdfeeders for feathered guests, looking after tad-poles found in a local pond, and playing active games of soccer and skip- ping with friends outside. It was fabulous to see so many of our parents on April 30th at our Spring Concert, “Project Edenbrook Hill”. Hopefully they were in- spired by our Eco-message. The performers did an outstanding job entertaining and educating their audience. A big thank-you to our dedicated students, passionate staff and supportive parent commu- nity! A special „shout out‟ to Mrs. Cotton, our fantastic music teacher, who will be retiring in June. Her expertise and passion will be sorely missed. We wish Mrs. Cotton well in her retirement. We know there have been some questions about the new Health and Physical Education curriculum due to be implemented in September 2015. We encourage you to check out the resources on the Ministry of Education web site at http://news.ontario.ca/edu/en/2015/02/ ontario-releases-updated-health-physical-education-curriculum-parent- resources.html to familiarize yourself with the curriculum. Please be reassured that the staff at Edenbrook Hill are professional, caring teachers. Both the Superhero Move-a-Thon and Jump Rope for Heart were fantastic events. Thank-you for supporting us with these fundraising events. We raised money for good causes and had a lot of fun at the same time. We would like to recognize four of our dedicated staff members for 20 years of service to the Peel District School Board, Mrs. Carter (Teaching Assistant), Mr. Elston (Teacher), Mrs. Taylor (Teacher) and Mr. Xavier (Custodian). In honour of Asian Heritage Month we would like to leave you with the following quote from Gandhi. “You must be the change you wish to see in the world”. Sincerely, Colleen Lowry Nancy McCartney Principal Vice Principal

Dear Parents/Guardians,
Finally Spring has arrived at Edenbrook Hill. Our students are making
the most of this fine weather. They have been watching the newly
installed birdfeeders for feathered guests, looking after tad-poles
found in a local pond, and playing active games of soccer and skip-
ping with friends outside.
It was fabulous to see so many of our parents on April 30th at our
Spring Concert, “Project Edenbrook Hill”. Hopefully they were in-
spired by our Eco-message. The performers did an outstanding job
entertaining and educating their audience. A big thank-you to our
dedicated students, passionate staff and supportive parent commu-
nity! A special „shout out‟ to Mrs. Cotton, our fantastic music teacher,
who will be retiring in June. Her expertise and passion will be sorely
missed. We wish Mrs. Cotton well in her retirement.
We know there have been some questions about the new Health and
Physical Education curriculum due to be implemented in September
2015. We encourage you to check out the resources on the Ministry
of Education web site at http://news.ontario.ca/edu/en/2015/02/
Family Math Problem The Ants Crash Mrs. Lowry’s Picnic? Mrs. Lowry has a tasty lunch laid out on a blanket in her backyard. A group of ants stumble across the food. They need a plan to carry the sandwiches away quickly. For little mathematicians there are 2 ants and 4 sandwiches. For bigger mathematicians there are 4 ants and 2 sandwiches. For sophisticated mathematicians there are 4 ants and 6 sandwiches.
