Mainstream Education With Foreign Language is an approach that many schools are using.

The process is that students are in classes taught in English or another language and then typically take an

hour and a half to an hour class that is taught in a second language.

This process lasts about 5-12 years of the students education.

Mainstream Education With Foreign Language

could also be called a process called drip-feeding.

Drip-feeding is used in the United States, Canada, and some parts of Europe, where a majority of students are

taught with their home language in the classroom.

An example would be a child who has parents who speak mainly English at home are taught in a school where

subjects are taught in English and includes some second language teaching.

Drip-Feeding Continued…

The second language is typically taught for ½ an hour to an hour a day making the language more of a subject in the

curriculum similar to subjects like science or math.

Curriculum content is usually more important than the actual learning of the language in the drip-feeding

approach.
