Ecosystems

A landscape or region that receives an extremely low amount of precipitation, less than enough to support growth of most plants

Desert

Big flat area of land.

Plains

Region of Earth surrounding the Equator.

Tropics

Tree growth is hindered by low temperatures and short growing seasons.

Tundra

Areas where the vegetation is dominated by grasses and other non woody plants.

Grasslands

A large landform that stretches above the surrounding land in a limited area usually in the form of a peak.

Mountains

An area with a high density of trees.

Forest

An area of land whose soil is saturated with water either permanently or seasonally.

Wetlands
