OPEN-ENDED QUESTIONGeneral Comments

“Work with PCBD to pre-qualify and bond specific contractors to perform dry-in and temporary repairs to existing business buildings. Determine fast track permit process and inspection procedures for these contractors to re-establish business operations and reduce the loss of jobs quickly. There is a comfort level of being able to (return to) work when everything else in your life is in shambles.”

OPEN-ENDED QUESTIONGeneral Comments

“I placed the survey near the bottom because it would be unrealistic to conduct a survey prior to a disaster and expect abusiness to know what they would need for assistance. Conducting one after a disaster would be okay if it was one that gathered the information as they came into a business recovery center or reached out to those in charge.”

Page 21: ECONOMIC REDEVELOPMENT WORKGROUP SURVEY RESULTS … · “Coordinate the local lenders and the SBA to ... to re-establish business operations and reduce the loss ... festivals 5.

OPEN-ENDED QUESTIONSuggest Additional Issues

“Of course this all changes based upon the severity of the disaster. If we experience a Cat 5, then obviously there is a greater need to focus on job creation and retention. If however, we have a disaster that is not as bad as the "outside world" believes then the marketing to promote target industries is a bigger need.”
