ECO-TOURISM will be the fuel for progress

ORIENTAL MINDORO is one of the few provinces in the country that has tremendous potentials for eco-tourism and nature-based activities. It is endowed with a great bio-diversity of marine and forest reserves, indigenous flora and fauna , fish sanctuaries, and cultural communities. It has declared national parks and marine parks to conserve and promote its natural treasures which include pristine beaches, rivers, caves and underground rivers as well as dive sites.

PORT OF ROXAS: PROFILEPORT PROFILE Location

Latitude: 12*39'NLongitude: 121*33'E

Port area - 7, 270 sq.m.

Land accessThe Port is accessible by land travel for approximately 2 ½ to 3 hours. It is about one (1) kilometer away from the Poblacion of Roxas.

Physical environment/topographyDiurnal tide range: 1.13 meters; average tide level: 0.55 meters. Currents in the vicinity of the harbor are strong in the southeastern direction during flood and northeastern during ebb.

Terminal fee is Php15.00 per head. There is a canteen on the 2nd floor which is also operated by the NPMSI.

PORT OF CALAPAN • The port of Calapan is the main gateway

to the Province of Oriental Mindoro. Located at Brgy. San Antonio, this port is developed and maintained by the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA). The Port of Calapan is best known as part of the Strong Republic Nautical Highway, as it is the Port linking the Visayas islands to the mainland of Luzon. The Port is actually 104.3 nautical miles from Manila, and about 22 nautical miles southward from the Batangas sea.

Although the port is located far away from the southern towns of Oriental Mindoro, the port itself is indeed accessible. Public Utility Vehicles are available for passengers whose destination are outside the town of Calapan

PORT OF BULALACAO

The Port of Bulalacao is located in Bulalacao, Oriental Mindoro. The port is expected to serve as a sub-entry point for goods and tourists from/to Oriental Mindoro, Busuanga (Palawan) and Boracay .

Location: 12°20′N 121°21′E

Land Access: The port is accessible through the main national road. It is approximately 116 kilometers away from the town proper of the Port of Calapan.

Pilot Boarding Station: Not compulsory at the port

Berthing Area: The port has a berthing area for Roro vessel and may also accommodate conventional vessels.

PORT OF POLA• The Port of Pola is located in Brgy. Tiguihan, about 1.9

kms.from the town proper of Pola, Oriental Mindoro. The port is expected to serve as a sub-entry point for goods from/to Oriental Mindoro and the provinces of Quezon (Lucena) and Marinduque and is identified to become a partner port of San Juan Port in Batangas province.

Location: 12° 19′ 55″ N Latitude ; 121° 05′ 10″ E Longitude

Port Limits: The limits of the port is described in its proposed port zone delineation (PZD) which is now with the office of the President awaiting for the issuance of the corresponding Executive Order.

Land Access: The port is accessible through the main national road. It is approximately 1.9 kilometers away from the town proper of Pola.

Pilot Boarding Station: Not compulsory at the port

Total Port Area: 5,151 sq.m.

Berthing Area: The port has a berthing area for Roro vessel and may also accommodate conventional vessels.

Draft: ‘-4.50m from MLLW (present draft)

RENEWABLE ENERGY is the power for progress. Capitalize the water channels as hydroelectric power sources. Utilize the wind energy potential for supplementary RE sources. Develop RE potentials to RE Sources to suffice the island power requirements and export surplus energy through inter-island transmission
