pRe - kinDeRGaRten pROGRaMThe Pre-Kindergarten Program provides preschool education at 27 Saint Paulelementaryschoolssupportingandenhancingthelearninganddevelopmentofchildrenandtheirfamiliespriortokindergarten.ChildrenmustbefourbySeptember1,2011andliveinSaintPaul.
Atmostschools,admissionpriorityisgiventochildrenwhoareEnglishLanguageLearners, are eligible for free or reduced meals, or are receiving Early ChildhoodSpecialEducationservices.
Screeningisrecommendedforchildrenwhentheyarebetween3and4yearsoldforearly identification of any concerns that may interferewithlearning.ScreeningisofferedbySaintPaulPublicSchoolsfreeofcharge.(Parentscouldarrangethisscreeningwiththeirowndoctororhealthclinic.FormsareavailablefromtheEarly Childhood Screening Office.)
