ranDolph - The sCoring maChineRandolph has been on fire the last three games for the Soaring Eagles, posting game-highs of 32, 27, and 29 points for a three-game average of 29.3. His 29.3 average is the highest over a three-game stretch in over 12 years. The last player to come as close was former EC standout Corrin Jackson ’03, who averaged 27.6 points in the last three games of the 2002-03 season.
DoUble-DigiT sCoring sTreakRandolph has scored in double-digits each of the first six games of the 2013-14 season, the only EC player to do so this year. He is close to match-ing the eight-game stretch Bobby DiPiazza ’11 had to open the 2008-09 season, but the forward has a ways to go to equal the 13-game streak that Micah Owens ’06 put together to start the 2005-06 season.
vogel moves CloserWith 28 assists on the season, Derrick Vogel ’14 is 50 assists from moving into a tie for 10th place in Elmira College history for career assists.
keys Closing inWith 207 career three-pointers, Josh Keys ’14 is moving ever closer to becoming Elmira’s all-time leader in career three-pointers. EC’s all-time leader, Ryan Bennett ’01, holds down the No. 1 spot with 249.
on The UpswingEC’s 3-3 record is their best start to a season since 2002-03 when the Soar-ing Eagles opened the year with four straight wins. It is also the latest in the year that the Purple and Gold have been at .500 since the 2002-03 season.
five oUT of sixElmira has not been shy about shooting the three-ball this year, and right-fully so as EC is knocking down nearly 40% of their attempts from down-town. Elmira has buried eight or more three-pointers in five of EC’s six games this year. Last season, the Soaring Eagles made eight or more three-pointers in a single contest in eight games.
sCoring 70 or moreThe Soaring Eagles have scored 70 points or more in four games this sea-son. In those games, Elmira has gone 3-1.
noT sinCe 2005-06In Elmira’s win over Fredonia State, the Soaring Eagles outrebounded the Blue Devils, 38-20. EC’s 18 rebound margin is the most in their favor since the 2005-06 season when Elmira outrebounded Houghton College by a whopping 27 boards on November 30, 2005.
when iT CoUnTs The mosTIn the first half against Oberlin, Elmira only made 2-of-5 free throw at-tempts. However, in the second half, EC knocked down 13-of-17 and made 11-of-12 during the final 10:15 of the game.
