Submission : The present statistics is generally in agreement with
the figures stated in paragraph 2 and 3 of the EC.
Paragraph 6 has specified 14 conditions as (A) and 13 conditions as (B). All these are
attempted to be obeyed in right earnest.
(A) Specific Conditions

iii Web-site • Web – site compliance done on www.daundsugar.com
• We included monitored data for [a] 4 parameters of AAQ, and
[b] 7 parameters of effluents.
• We have erected a Notice Board near main gate, also.
iv Spent-wash • The spent-wash quantity generated is measured every-day by
flow meter It has never crossed the limit of 615m3/day, on any
day.
• ZLD is achieved so far by adopting scheme as Bio-digester
followed by MEE, followed by incineration boiler, press mud
used as filler material.
• Distillery unit has not worked for more than 330 days. Last
season it worked for only 50Days.
v Spent-wash • Storage is in impervious pucca lagoon 80x50x4.6 m
• Properly lined with HDPE 250 micron and compacted.
• Storage capacity is 18450 cum, which does not exceed 30 days.
• It is surveyed every day for leakages.

Ground-water • To ascertain any leakages three pits are dug 1 x1x2 m depth,
one up-gradient and two down-gradient of the lagoon plus
compost yard.
• Monthly inspection revealed no trace of any leakages.
• This checking will continue.
• In rainy season, the lagoon is dry and there is no activity in
compost yard.
• This is not reported by us in writing to MPCB so far. In future, it
will be so done to MPCB and MoEF.
Vii Green-belt • Totally green-belt is planned on an area of 194300 Sq m, which
is 34% of the total plant area.
• So far we have already planted 90400 number of trees, this
year we are planting 5000 Nos.
• For bio-diversity, in all 25number of species are planted.
• Species are selected as per CPCB publication, MPCB circular and
in consultation with Botanical Department of local college. The
species selection is intimated to DFO for suggestions, if any.

viii RWH • Large green vegetated area has reduced flowing away quantity
of rain water, at least by 1/3rd
.
• Roof rain water is collected by down-take pipes and conveyed
by SWD to the campus water-body.
• This year further efforts are made for groundwater recharge as
per CPCB design.
ix Fire fighting • The system is provided as per TAC and Factory Inspectorate
(DISH = Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health,
Maharashtra).
• This is regularly inspected by Factory Inspectors during visit.
• The insurance company has approved the system.
x Foam system • At certain locations (especially near alcohol areas) foam system
are provided.
xi Risk Assessment • This is conducted by competent persons, for fire and explosion,
[ Especially due to alcohol storage ]
• Their suggestions are implemented and regular checkup is
going on.
• This year there was no incidence of any accident, unforeseen
act or event.
• Copy of incident report can be submitted to DISH with
information to visiting inspector, if any scenario occurred.
• Copy can also earmark for MPCB and MoEF, if scenario
occurred.
xii EMP & Hearing • EMP and Public Hearings outcomes are fully implemented.
• In order to ensure meeting the standards of treated effluent,

• In order to ensure meeting the standards of stack emissions, we
have designed and provided full scheme as – ESP

• No reportable accident occurred during this period.
• Funds ear-marked for environmental protection, were spent
only on that account head.
• Care is taken for CSR social upliftment, especially for increasing
sugarcane crop, educational assistance and employment.

Xiii Occupational
health
• This is conducted by competent persons, for health check,
diagnosis, medical aid, further inspections, change of duty-
station, especially due to their occupation and exposure.
• Their suggestions are implemented and shown to them.
• This year there was no incidence of any occupational health
hazard, accident, unforeseen act or event.
• Copies of medical reports and records periodically are
maintained and such reports were routinely submitted to
DISH and informed to visiting inspectors.
• The first aid facilities are kept strengthened to the
satisfaction of Consulting Physician, workers’ union and
Factory Rules.
xiv Labour camp • The construction activity was limited in the present case, and
was more in the form of fabrication.
• Construction workers were available from local nearby village
as day workers and were not required to stay here.
• Only a few especially skilled workers (ranging between 10 to
15) were accommodated in temporary camp.
• For them facilities were provided by us, and by contractors
for cooking fuel, mobile toilets, STP, safe drinking water,
medical health care, crèche and sanitation are provided.

ii AAQ • We have selected three AAQ stations one upwind and two
others at 120 degrees, plus one where maximum GLC is
predicted by mathematical modeling.
• Three parameters SPM, SO2,NOx are ascertained.
• These are found inside the permissible limits.
• The stations and findings are reported to MPCB.
iii Effluent
quality
• Three influent quality stations are selected
• Regular monitoring is done six-monthly for major parameters
like pH, BOD, COD, and SS.
• These are found inside the permissible limits.
• The stations and findings are reported to MPCB.

v Noise • Needful noise controlling measures as per EMP are taken
including tree barriers.
• Noise levels are monitored at three locations at 120 degrees
and found inside the day and night limits.

vi Cell • Environment Management Cell is established.
• It is headed by a qualified and experienced environmental
officer having experience more than 10 yrs.
• For routine running he is given suitable laboratory assistance.
Who do daily analysis.
• For additional work he has an approach to MoEF approved
laboratory and NABET approved FAE (Functional Area Experts)
for guidance & trainings.
• The cell reports directly to the MD
vii Funds • We have received the EC in 2016 and by this time all the basic
works required to fulfill the conditions are already done.
• We utilized earmarked Rs. 52.41 Cr for capital investment on
environment as specified in EMP.
• We are using earmarked Rs. 11.24 Cr for recurring
expenditure for the year on matter related environment.
• The funds earmarked for Environment are not diverted to any
other account head. Management is very committed for the
same.

ix Monitoring

• We shall fully co-operate with MoEF Regional Office, SPCB

• We undertake that we shall submit six-monthly reports on
compliance of EC conditions to MoEF Regional Office, SPCB
and CPCB now onwards
• We have commenced doing this, but if some reports are
misplaced or lagging we request to kindly regularize the same.
Xi Env
Statement
• We are already submitting regularly the annual, statutory
Environmental Statement on Form V every year to MPCB.
• In future we shall also endorse a copy each to CPCB and
MOEF RO office.
• In future we shall also upload it on web-site now introduced.
• The latest recent annual, statutory Env Statement on Form V
is enclosed herewith.
xii Inform
• Compliance for informing copy of EC granted by MOEF is
conveyed to local authority, MPCB, workers union, villagers,
NGO and was displayed on gate too.

ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT PLAN
Air Pollution:
For distillery, there is no dedicated boiler.
Water Pollution:
Spent wash is treated with Bio-digester, followed by MEE, followed by incineration
boiler.
Lagoon is provided about 30 day’s capacity.
Digester is closed. The biogas is collected and used for sugar boiler.
Composting yard is provided as per CPCB /MPCB conditions.
Turning machine is procured, diesel driven.
The ready compost is lifted by desirous farmers everyday.
The sober & moderate streams of effluents are sent to sugar factory ETP for further
treatment, recycle, re-use and disposal.
Noise Pollution:
Machines are provided with sturdy foundation. There is no vibration and sound.
Trees are planted as barriers.
Acoustic enclosures provided for DG sets.
Vehicular traffic, alcohol tankers are encouraged only in the day-time.
No molasses is required to be brought from outside.
Roads are maintained leveled and smooth.
Solid Waste:
Distillation residue (@15 MTM) is generated & used in compost preparation permitted
30 MT/M, Used Spent oil - 857L/A Reuse in own boiler as fuel, Chemical Sludge -
21.5MT/A used as soil conditioner, Fly/Boiler ash – 50 MT/M sale to brick manufacturer
