Requirements for Broadcast NGN
Migration of existing (SDH, ATM) networks.
Provision of all available services and openness to new services.
Standardized platform for broadcast specific transmissions.
Support ofdifferent service levels and classes.
Optimized network management via prioritization.
QoS for real-time.
Best effort for file transfer.
Establishment ofVPN for customer-tailored networks with independentadministration.
Customer self service for establishing short-term connections (10.000 p.m.).
Interface to ERP services for Billing.
Open platform (multi vendor) in accordance with global standards.

Automatic rerouting in case of errors, if capacity isavailable in the BROADCAST NGN.
We will maintain two separate routes within theBROADCAST NGN. In case of error, the line willautomatically be switched to the alternate route.
Two independently run connections will be activatedbetween locations A and B (1+1).
A second source can be booked in advance. The line willbe switched to this second source should an error occur.
No backup planned. Manual rerouting by network
management within the BROADCAST NGN is possible.

Operators Concern
To roll-out new services i.e. HD, 3D
To be able to scale with our growth
To get our data in-synch with dynamic changes
To get our users and staff trained (intuitive clients)
To be integrated into our current and future operations
To handle all of our resources and services

Industrial Trends
The merging of broadcast and telcos networks isalready happening
Collaboration instead of competition will be key
Control systems have to meet both telco andbroadcast requirements
Customer operations have become very fast
