OVERVIEW

EazyPM is a software package that provides a simple but powerful way to record and centrally store Appraisal data for teachers and to track the progress of the Appraisal process.

Non-teaching staff members should consult with their line managers regarding their own specific Appraisal process.

GETTING STARTED

You can open the application by going to Start > All programs > EazyPM. You will see this login screen.

Enter the username and the password (supplied by Gurmeet Chaggar), then click on submit to proceed.

Note: Please ensure that your laptop is connected to the School Network via the grey cable. You will be unable to access EazyPM from home.

The next screen will vary according to your role in school.

Teachers will only see the ‘Review Performance Management’ button.

Appraisal Reviewers will also see the overall progress button.

The Headteacher and System Administrator will additionally see the ‘Administration Tasks’ button.

OVERALL PROGRESS SCREEN To set objectives for a member of staff, click on ‘Check the overall progress of performance management’. This is the next screen you will see:

This screen provides an overview off all staff that you line manage for Appraisals. On the right, you can select which academic year you wish to view. You can also filter by department, etc. To look in detail and to set new objectives, double click on a member of staff. A new screen will open showing the basic information for that colleague:

This screen has 6 tabs that can be used to record information. You can enter information in GREEN shaded boxes only. Any box shaded in red is read-only.

You should set three objectives which MUST be linked to a Teacher/Post-Threshold standard, as follows:

• Learning and Teaching objective • Leadership and Management, or second Learning and Teaching objective • Student Progress objective.

CYCLE JUST ENDED

Tab 2, ‘Cycle just Ended, provides an area to review the previous year’s objectives. For the current cycle, please leave this blank. Instructions on how to complete this section will be sent towards the end of the Appraisal Cycle 2012-13.

ACCESSING TEACHER AND POST-THRESHOLD STATEMENTS

You will notice a button on the lower left labeled “Resource Library’. When you click on this you will see the following:

DO NOT use the ‘Core Teacher’ or ‘PTT Standards’ buttons; these contain out of date information. Instead, click on the SDP Overview dropdown menu to view the Teacher and Post-Threshold Standards:

OBJECTIVES Selecting Tab 3 will open up the area for setting objectives for the new Appraisal cycle.

To do this, first click the ‘New Objective’ button. You will notice that most of the boxes change from red to green, indicating that you can fill these areas in.

On the right is a generic example. You will see that ‘Departmental Objective’ has been selected and this has been linked to a Teaching Standard using the drop down list found under ‘SDP Link’.

The actual objective and success criteria for meeting that should be entered into the appropriate boxes.

A time scale MUST be entered before saving using the ‘Save Objective’ button found to the lower left.

Repeat this process to set a further two objectives.

If you change your mind about adding an objective, click ‘Cancel’. Once added, the objective will appear in the objective overview list on the left-hand side of the screen. Clicking on an objective in this part of the screen will allow you to view details and to edit if required. Remember to save after making any changes. Objectives can also be removed by selecting them in the overview screen and clicking on ‘Remove Objective’.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Here you can record Professional Development needs identified through the appraisal process. This screen is lightly different from the others as it allows you to quickly flip between examining this year’s cycle and that of previous years.

Always make sure you have for the right cycle selected when adding new CPD items!

A feature of this section is the ability to link CPD requirements with specific objectives that you have set. For this reason, it is recommended that you work through the tabs in numerical order so that, for instance, objectives are available for you to link when you come to add CPD items.

Please note that completing CPD requirements in this area DOES NOT replace the system for applying for Professional Development already in place at Lister.

REFLECTIVE JOURNAL

The Reflective Journal is an optional resource available for use by the reviewee if they so wish. All teachers can access their own journal to complete their Reflective Journal at any time during the Appraisal cycle.

Please note that the Appraisal Reviewer should create the journal by clicking on ‘New Reflective Journal’ so that the reviewee can access this area.

CREATING APPRAISAL DOCUMENTS

On the lower right of every screen you will see a ‘Create PM Document’ button. Clicking on this will create a Word version of the Appraisal information entered. This is a handy way of seeing everything in one place.

If you choose to do this, please ensure that you have saved the document into the Reviewer’s own area. For confidentiality reasons, do not save on the Staff Drive.

A copy of the document should be printed for both the Reviewer and Reviewee to sign. This document should be kept securely by the Reviewer. There is no need to forward a copy for central storage.
