The Nelson Mandela Museum calls for proposals for the supply, design, development and installation of
exhibitions and design and supply of exhibition cases according to the following guide:
1. Design, fabricate and install an exhibition that represents the Presidency of Nelson Mandela. The exhibition
must be able to respond to the different age groups of all South Africans and must capture the image of
Nelson Mandela for the international community. In addition, a person must leave the museum feeling that
they have taken a piece of Nelson Mandela with him.
2. Design and supply exhibition cases for fabric material and objects such as orders, medals, and ceramic, that
meets all the conservation standards and in accordance with best museum practices that is: two fabric cases
and ten objects cases.
A compulsory site briefing will be held at Bhunga Building – Corner Owen Street and Nelson Mandela Drive at Mthatha, on Wednesday the 19th February 2014 at 11H00. Closing date for the submission of priced proposals is Friday, 14th March 2013 at 12H00. The Museum reserves the right to cancel or re-advertise this request if it deems necessary.

Original Equipment Manufacturers or Franchise Holders are required to be registered for VAT. An original valid certificate of good standing in respect of taxes from the SARS must be submitted with the Bid in order to be considered.
Clause 14 of bid rules and how this will affect the evaluation of the bids
Failure to supply all supplementary information will result in the bid being deemed non-responsive, and therefore the bid will not be considered for award.
The Bid will be adjudicated on the 90:10 points system of the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (Act No.5, 2000), and the regulations pertaining thereto dated October 2011, as well as the Departmental Policy on Supply Chain Management.
