ATTENDANCE POLICY

Every Cheerleader has to be committed to the team!

Cheerleading is a team sport! Each and every cheerleader is important to their team and it is expected that participants attend all practices and games. We are no different than any other sport. Remember every time you miss, you are making your whole squad suffer. They either have to change stunts, or won’t be able to practice or perform them all together. We all recognize and certainly understand unexpected situations arise, such as illness, and that a cheerleader may have to miss an occasional practice or game, but it is unacceptable for a cheerleader to not attend practice without good reason. Excessive absences may place a child at a disadvantage in learning their routines or stunts and may result in not being able to participate in performances. Your team relies on you. Please make an effort to attend all practices and games. Excused Absences are other sport/practices/ games (summer session only), vacations, illness (documented), or family emergency. These will only be considered excused if the Coaches, or one of the assistant coaches are contacted BEFORE practice. Please contact one of the coaches as soon as you know you will miss. A note or e-mail would be best for foreseen absences. Unexcused Absences are not showing up to practice, game, or any other performance without talking to a coach BEFORE that function is supposed to start. Summer & Game Season

1st Offense = Warning

2nd Offense = Sit Out Of Practice

3rd Offense = Sent Home From Practice

4th Offense = 1 Week Suspension From Practice/Game 5th Offense = Dismissal Competition Season Absences Start Over

As always, there may be exceptions to this. Each will be reviewed individually and considered reasonably. The Coaches have final say in all dismissals.  Leaving the Team Mid-Way Through Season If you choose to quit the team mid-way through season you will not be allowed to re-join until the following year. Now if you choose to only cheer through football season and not compete that is not considered leaving or quitting the team however you must make that decision prior to competition season starting. Please note that if you quit the team you will lose any money remaining in your child’s account and it will be put in to the general team fund.

ETYC Fee’s & Expenses

The first year in cheer/pom’s is the most expensive as you are purchasing for the first time items you will need every year. After the first year the cost does decline so long as all equipment is properly cared for as it is used year after year. Purchases and payments are staggered to give families time to fundraise and pay their obligations. We do several fundraisers to help alleviate the cost so that all families feel open to their child being part of the team without restrictions of money.

Fundraising

We have several fundraisers throughout the year that offset the expenses of camps, clothing, shoes, etc. Depending on the overall sales for the fundraiser the team will get 5%-10% of the profits that will be put into the general team fund that goes for buying new uniforms and equipment. Each cheerleader will have their own individual account where your fundraising profits will be put into. Parents can use their credits to purchase clothing or can be put towards camps, competition fees, etc. Your credits can carry over each year until the end of your eighth grade year. Unfortunately we cannot provide cash refunds so any remaining balances at the end of your eighth grade year will be placed into the general team fund. If you decide to quit before the end of the season the remaining credits in your account will also be placed into the general team fund.
