In terms of COPD
• #Smoking and #ambient particulate matter were the main risk factors for COPD followed by #household air pollution, #occupational particulates, #ozone, and #secondhand smoke. Together, these risks explained 73.3%
• Asthma most prevalent chronic respiratory disease worldwide, 2x number of COPD.
• Deaths from COPD were 8x more than deaths from asthma.
Lung cancer
• 51 percent world’s lung cancer occur in Asia.
• 21 percent of cancer deaths in Asia
• In China adenocarcinoma - involving more females and non-smokers - have exceeded that of smoking-related carcinoma
• ?due to PM 2.5 air pollution
Asbestos
• 107,000 die each year asbestos ailments
• A U.S. study found in 2013 *China topped consumption at 570,000 tons, *Russia 432,000 tons, *India 303,000 tons, *Brazil 181,000 tons and *Indonesia 156,000 tons. Countries in Asia in sixth to 10th place, including *Vietnam and *Thailand.

• Presumed craniofacial abnormalities more prevalent in asians
