EASE OF DOING BUSINESS 2020: Based on World Bank’s Doing Business 2020 report THE BIG PICTURE – REFORMS MAKING IT EASIER TO DO BUSINESS IN FAIR BIZ COUNTRIES AREAS OF BUSINESS REGULATION IN FOCUS REFORMS IMPLEMENTED BY FAIR BIZ COUNTRIES IN 2018/2019 Over the past 5 years, Fair Biz target countries have been connuously implemenng regulatory reforms in pursuit of a beer business environment. All 6 countries have secured steady improvement in their ease of doing business score, with the 5-year growth rate averaged at 10%. Myanmar introduced an online plaorm for company registraon and reduced incorporaon fees. The Philippines abolished the minimum capital requirement for domesc companies. Myanmar also improved its water and sanitaon infrastructure and made the building perming process more efficient by introducing service quality standards. Dealing with construcon permits To obtain a construcon permit, it takes 41 days in Malaysia 200 days in Indonesia Indonesia (Surabaya) improved the reliability of power supply following renovaons to and enhanced maintenance of its electrical grid. Indonesia (Surabaya) also made obtaining new electrical connecons faster thanks to higher generaon capacity.
