Training of Providers (TOPs)

• Six-hour, free, interactive training co-presented by OHA and University of Oregon

• Six hour training, Set Two credit toward professional development through Portland State University’s Oregon Center for Career Development

– 2 hours Family & Community Systems, 4 hours Assessment & Observation– 8 hours in Spanish (2.5 hours Family & Community Systems, 5.5 Assessment &

Observation)

• Curriculum covers:– Administering the ASQ-3– Engaging parents in their child’s development– Responding to screening results and parental concerns

• Four regional trainings and over 120 providers to date

Training of Trainers (TOTs)

• Ten-hour, free, Set Two credit, interactive training over 1.5 days co-presented by OHA and University of Oregon staff

• For trainers who have received “Master Trainer” certification with the Oregon Center for Career Development Registry

• Upon completion, trainers receive all training materials and may provide Training of Providers (TOPS) sessions across the state; trainers are encouraged to partner with the local ELH and CCRR when planning/scheduling ASQ TOPs

• Access to additional coaching and technical assistance from the state team

• Two regional trainings and over 60 participants to date!

ASQ Trainings & QRIS

• FAQ developed jointly by TRI, CEL, QRIS & OHA • Key points:

– QRIS standards (3 star level) require developmental screening be conducted

• Within 45 days of a child entering services• Copy of one completed ASQ in portfolio• Program policy

– ASQ-3 is a parent-completed questionnaire

• Technical assistance available– CCR&R, TRI, UO, OHA– Available to Trainers and Providers
