They need different things and they differ in the ways in which
they eat. In addition, families of breastfed babies need the
support of their child care provider in order to continue their
nursing relationship. This training will offer information on

Description: Autism is a lifelong developmental disorder that
impacts social skills, communication and behavior. We will cover
its basic elements and how to facilitate interaction with people
with autism, including tips and practical solutions for working
with school-age and younger. Danielle Fedor, an Autism Ally
and mother of a child with autism, will facilitate this workshop.

Foundations – Social Emotional Foundations - Approaches to Play and Learning
Description: Professionals working with young children need
to develop understanding that learning takes place everywhere.
Through intentional planning the teacher/caregiver can insure
that the children in their care are being properly supported while
they are developing critical social-emotional behaviors. This
training will help teaching professionals feel more comfortable
using the Indiana Foundations with a specific focus on the
social-emotional section of the document.

Dealing with Rejection and Ostracism Help! What are These Big Feelings: Helping
Children Who Get Overwhelmed with Anger or Anxiety
Description: Rejection occurs throughout life. It can also be
referred to as ostracism. What does it look like? What are its
affects? Ostracism is a topic we may not think about, but
unfortunately it is something which all of us have experienced.
How does it affect our behavior, our work/school performance,
or our interpersonal relations? Harriet Armstrong, the Health
and Human Sciences Educator with the Purdue Extension in
Bartholomew County, will be facilitating this workshop.

Description: This training focuses on the definition of bullying,

Description: During the school-age years, the brain continues

all those areas. We address basic principles of development for
school-agers and implications for learning environments.

Prevention
Safe Sleeping Practices and Reducing the Risk of SIDS in Child Care
Description: This includes the 1-hour training created by the
FSSA, Bureau of Childcare's Health Consultants, and provides
information on the prevalence of abuse and neglect, causes
and prevention of abuse. It meets the standard for completing
Child Abuse Detection and Prevention training as required by
Indiana law for Unlicensed CCDF providers as well as any other
child care providers who are required to complete the training.

Description: Increase your understanding of a safe sleeping

(SIDS) and accidental death prevention. This training is a pre-
service requirement that satisfies Public Law 162-205 for home
licensure, as well as Provider Eligibility Standards Certified
home providers (CCDF Voucher). Child care providers from all
settings are encouraged to attend this free training.

ministry setting. It covers regulatory requirements, resources,
and some info on health, safety, and business practices. It
serves to help with the decision making process for participants
to choose which type of care they would like to provide.

of this generation and others? What needs to be in place for a
harmonious relationship between the generations? We
investigate different generations and explore qualities of each.
