1 PurposeThis configuration guide provides the information you need to set up the configuration of thisbuilding block manually.

If you do not want to configure manually and prefer an automated installation process usingeCATTs and BC Sets, use the SAP Best Practices Installation Assistant.

2 Preparation

2.1 Prerequisites

Building BlocksThe following building blocks form the basis for all SAP Best Practices for High Tech and Industrial Machinery and Components scenarios. You only have to install these building blocksonce.

3 Configuration

3.1 Defining Table

Use

The purpose of this activity is to define the table especially used by the record managementprofiles.

Procedure

1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

SAP Menu Tools→ ABAP Workbench→ Development → ABAP 

Dictionary 

Transaction Code SE11

2. On the ABAP Dictionary: Initial Screen, make the following entries:

8. Choose Enter to confirm your entries.

9. Select the CASE_GUID row.

10. Choose Foreign Keys.

11. On the Display Foreign Key Y83_T_CASE_ATTR-CASE_GUID screen, enter SCMG_T_CASE in the field Check table.

12. Choose Enter to confirm your entries, and confirm the dialog box.

13. Select Key fields/candidates, and enter 1:1 in the Cardinality row.

14. Choose Copy to confirm your entries.

15. Choose Technical Settings on the Dictionary: Maintain Table screen.

16. Confirm the dialog box to save the table first. (You might need this table as a local object in

your client.)17. On the Dictionary: Maintain Technical Settings screen, make the following entries:

19. Choose Activate to activate the table.

20. Choose Save to confirm the entries.

Result

Table Y83_T_CASE_ATTR has been defined.

3.2 Defining Search Profile

Use

The purpose of this activity is to define the search profile for the record management model.

Procedure

1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:IMG Menu SAP NetWeaver → SAP Web Application Server → Basis

Services→ Case Management  Create Case Search  

Create Profile for Case Search

Transaction Code SPRO

2. On the Change View “Profile of Case Search”: Overview screen, choose New Entries.

3. On the New Entries: Overview of Added Entries screen, make the following Entries.

3.3 Defining RMS ID

Use

The purpose of this activity is to define the RMS ID used by this record management system.

Procedure1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

IMG Menu SAP NetWeaver → SAP Web Application Server → Basis

Services→ Case Management  Set Registry 

Transaction Code SRMREGEDIT

2. On the Registry: Developer Mode screen, select Application Registry   S_AREA_CMG  RMS_ID.

3. Right click RMS_ID.

4. Choose Create Parameter Value.

5. On the Parameter Value screen, make the following entries:

3.4 Creating Business Object

Use

The purpose of this activity is to define the business object.

Procedure

1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

SAP Menu Tools→ ABAP Workbench→ Development → Business Object 

Builder 

Transaction Code SWO1

2. On the Business Object Builder: Initial Screen, enter BUS2001 in the Object/interface type field.

3. Choose Copy .

4. On the Copy Object Type screen, make the following entries:Field name Description User action and values Note

5. Choose Copy to create the object type. (You might need this object as a local object in your system.)

The new business object has been created in the system.

3.5 Changing Business Object

Use

The purpose of this activity is to change the business object, to assign the new transactions to it.

Procedure

1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

SAP Menu Tools→ ABAP Workbench→ Development → Business

Object Builder 

Transaction Code SWO1

2. On the Business Object Builder: Initial Screen, enter ZBUS2001 in the Object/interface type field.

3. Choose Change.

4. On the Change Object Type ZBUS2001 screen, choose Methods  ZProjectDefinition.Edit ,(double click).

5. In the Method Edit dialog box, choose the ABAP tab page.

6. Change the value in Name field to CJ20N .

7. Choose Enter to confirm your entries.

8. Put your cursor on the object ZProjectDefinition.Edit and choose Program.

9. On the Object Type: Editor Edit Program ZRUS2001, on line 81, change transaction CJ07 toCJ20N , on line 87, change transaction CJ08 to CJ20N .

10. Choose Back .

11. On the Change Object Type ZBUS2001 screen, choose Methods  ZProjectDefinition.Create (double click).

12. In the Method Create dialog box, choose the ABAP tab page.

13. Change the value in Name field to CJ20N .

14. Choose Enter to confirm your entries.

15. Put your cursor on the object ZProjectDefinition.Create, and choose Program.

16. On the Object Type: Editor Edit Program ZRUS2001 screen, on line 75, change transactionCJ06 to CJ20N .

17. Choose Back .

18. On the Change Object Type ZBUS2001 screen, choose Methods  ZProjectDefinition.Display (double click).

19. In the Method Display dialog box, choose the ABAP tab page.

20. Change the value in Name field to CJ20N .

21. Choose Enter to confirm your entries.

22. Save your entries.

Result

The new business object has been changed.

3.6 Generating Business Object

Use

The purpose of this activity is to generate the business object.

Procedure

1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

SAP Menu Tools→ ABAP Workbench→ Development → Business

2. On the Business Object Builder: Initial Screen, enter ZBUS2001 in the Object/interface type field, and choose Change.

3. On the Change Object Type ZBUS2001 screen, choose Edit → Change Release Status→ 

Object Type→ To Implemented.

4. Open the Methods folder and select ZProjectDefinition.Edit.From the menu, choose Edit → 

Change Release Status→ Object Type Component → To Implemented. Repeat this step for Method ZProjectDefinition.Create, and ZProjectDefinition.Display.

5. Open the Events folder and select event ProjectDefinitionT.Created.From the menu, choose

Edit → Change Release Status→ Object Type Component → To Implemented.

6. Choose Check and Generate the whole object.

7. Back to SAP Easy Access screen.

Result

The new business object has been generated.

3.7 Defining Element Types (Business Objects)

Use

The purpose of this activity is to create the element types, which belong to service provider “business object”.

Procedure

1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

IMG Menu SAP NetWeaver → SAP Web Application Server → BasisServices→ Case Management  Set Registry 

Transaction Code SRMREGEDIT

2. On the Registry: Developer Mode screen, choose Application Registry   S_AREA_CMG  SCMG_SP_BOR .

3. Right click the SCMG_SP_BOR , and choose Create Element Type.

4. In the Create Element Type dialog box, make the following entries:

5. Choose Enter to confirm your entries. (You might need this element type created as a localobject in your system.)

10. Repeat steps 7-9 to make the following entries:

14. On the screen Registry Browser: Select Area Parameter Value, choose RMS_ID   /YME83/MACHINE , and Choose Continue.

15. Save your entries.

18 element types should be maintained in the system. 10 of these are business objectswhich should be maintained in a similar way.

3.8 Defining Element Types (Other Types)

Use

The purpose of this activity is to create element types that belong to different service providers.

Procedure

1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

IMG Menu SAP NetWeaver → SAP Web Application Server → Basis

Services→ Case Management  Set Registry 

Transaction Code SRMREGEDIT

2. On the Registry: Developer Mode screen, choose Application Registry   S_AREA_CMG,and then choose service provider SCMG_SP_CASE_LOCATOR .

3. Right click the service provider SCMG_SP_CASE_LOCATOR , and choose Create Element Type.

4. In the Create Element Type dialog box, make the following entries:

5. Choose Enter to confirm your entries. (You might need this element type created as a localobject in your system.)

9. Choose Enter to confirm your entries.

10. Choose Classification tab page, and choose Create.

11. On the Registry Browser: Select Area Parameter Value screen, choose Type  SRM_BUSINESSOBJECT , and choose Continue.

12. Choose Create again.

13. On the Registry Browser: Select Area Parameter Value screen, choose RMS_ID   /YME83/MACHINE , and choose Continue.

14. Choose Create again.

15. On the Registry Browser: Select Area Parameter Value screen, choose LOG_KEEP_DAYS

 30 , and choose Continue.

16. Choose Create again.

17. On the Registry Browser: Select Area Parameter Value screen, choose LOG_LEVEL 4,and choose Continue.

18. Save your entries.

Use

The purpose of this activity is to create the help document used by the case model.

Prerequisite

Before you create the help document for case model, you need to create a folder structure C:\SAP DI on your local hard drive. Copy the help documentZ_E83_HELP_DOCUMENT.doc under the DVD folder SAP DI into this folder.

Procedure

1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

2. If the dialog box is displayed with a RMS_ID input requirement, enter  /YME83/MACHINE asthe RMS_ID.

3. On the Case Management screen, in the left side, choose Industrial Machinery Files  

Documents  Machine Office Documents.

4. Right click the Machine Office Documents, and choose Create.

5. A white page is then displayed in the right side of the screen.

6. Choose Application  From File.

7. In the dialog box, choose the document “Z_E83_HELP_DOCUMENT” , and choose Continue.

8. The Create Attributes – […] screen is displayed.

(You can also use drag-drop function like in windows system to drag the document from thewindows folder to the white area in SAP screen.)

9. On the Create Attributes – […] screen, make the following entries:

2. On the Case Management screen, in the left side, choose Industrial Machinery Files  

Record and Case Record Models  Machine Records Modeler .

3. Right click the Machine Records Modeler , and choose Create.

4. On the Record Modeler – Edit Model screen, in the middle part of the screen, right click theWork List folder.

5. Choose Create on same level (Before). Selection options are displayed in the right part of thescreen.

6. Make the following entries:

3.15 Defining Number Range

Use

The purpose of this activity is to define the number range used for the case type.

Procedure

1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

IMG Menu SAP NetWeaver → SAP Web Application Server → Basis

Services→ Case Management  Define Number Range

Intervals for Case

Transaction Code SPRO

2. On the External Case Key screen, choose Change Intervals.

3. On the Maintain Number Range Intervals screen, choose Insert Interval .

4. On the Insert Interval screen, make the following entries:

Field name Description User action and values Note

No Number Y1

From Number From number 600000000000

To Number To number 700000000000

5. Choose Insert to confirm your entries.

6. Save your entries, and confirm the dialog box.

Result

The number range has been created.

3.16 Changing External File

Use

The purpose of this activity is to change the external file to carry out the next step Defining CaseType.

Procedure

1. Open the external file for the step Defining Case Type: SMB50_CM_O004_E42.TXT.

2. In the field I_MODEL (Case Model), enter the case ID recorded during model creation.

3. Save the txt file.

Result

The external file for running the next step has been prepared.

3.17 Defining Case Type

Use

The purpose of this activity is to define the number range used for the case type.

Procedure

1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

Services→ Case Management  Define Case Types

2. On the Change View “Case Type Maintenance”: Overview screen, choose New Entries.

3. On the New Entries: Details of Added Entries screen, make the following entries:
