General Rules for All Exhibitors

1. Every exhibitor at the Warren Fair MUST hold a current membership for the Warren

Agricultural Society. Annual membership fee is $5.00 for adults 18 years and older. 2. Exhibitor numbers are assigned at time of membership purchase. 3. Ensure all exhibits are entered correctly on the registration form and entry tag. 4. Registration forms and entry tags can be picked up from the fair secretary and/or the

event chairperson. 5. Only one entry per exhibitor per section is allowed. 6. The judges' decisions are final. 7. Any grievances should be directed to the President of the Warren Agricultural

Society, in writing before 3 pm on Sunday.

✓ See General Rules For All Exhibitors for details. ✓ Exhibitor numbers are provided upon paying membership. ✓ Entry fee of $5 for adults will be charged, Youth exhibitors are free of

earned in adult classes. ✓ Entries can be delivered to the Exhibit Hall on Thursday – between 7 pm

2. Bernardin Gift Pack Competition – Items exhibited in Bernardin Mason jars (any size) with snap lids. Not limited to displaying jars in a basket – be creative. Include a list of items in the gift package. Entries will be judged on the quality of canned goods, perceived value, presentation and overall impression. Prize sponsored by Bernardin - $20.00 Gift Certificate Plus Rosette Prize Ribbon.

3. 'Best of Show' Award – The Fair’s Best Home Canning entry submitted in a Bernardin Jar and Snap Lid. Winner of this class will be the High Point Winner among qualifiers in Sections 1 through 16. Prize sponsored by Bernardin - $30.00 Gift Certificate Plus Rosette Prize Ribbon.

CLASS B1 – BAKING SPECIALS

➢ Attach ingredient list and proof of purchase ➢ Each entry must be displayed on a disposable plate in a freezer/storage bag with tags firmly

attached.

SECTION 1. OAAS Butter Tart with Raisin Competition – Pastry and butter tart filling to

be made by the exhibitor. Three, full size tarts (no mini or bite size tarts). No nuts or fruit other than the raisins. Prizes are 1st $5, 2nd $3, 3rd $2. Winning entry will be eligible to compete at the District Level. District winners are eligible to enter the Provincial Competition.

Each of the following “Country Fair Baking Contest” sections requires a photograph of the exhibitor, proof of purchase, recipe and signed release form. Winning entries are eligible to compete for the national prize of $200.

2. Robin Hood Family Favourite Recipe Baking Contest – Best homemade cake, muffins, or cake loaf in Category as selected by the Fair made with Robin Hood products. Judging will be based on appearance, taste, texture and recipe creativity. Prizes sponsored by Smucker Foods of Canada 1. First Prize $25.00 Gift Certificate 2. Second Prize $10.00 Gift Certificate

3. Crisco Family Favourite Recipe Baking Contest – Best homemade muffin,

pie or tart made with Crisco products, as selected by the Fair. Judging will be based on appearance, taste, texture and recipe creativity. Prizes sponsored by Smucker Foods of Canada – 1. First Prize $25.00 Gift Certificate 2. Second Prize is $10.00 Gift Certificate.

4. Robin Hood Family Best Lunch Box Snack Contest –

SECTION

1. Group Quilt - Any technique, to be worked on by more than 1 person. Please identify the makers (ie: pieced by Quilter 1, quilted by Quilter 2).

2. Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies (OAAS) Hand Quilted Championship Quilt Competition Entry must be solely made and hand quilted by the exhibitor. Entries must be a minimum of 324 inches measured around the perimeter. The name of the quilt pattern must accompany entry.

3. OAAS Machine Quilted Championship Quilt Competition

Entry must be solely made and machine quilted by the exhibitor. Exhibit to have a minimum perimeter measurement of 324 inches and be any shape.

Winning OAAS quilts are eligible to compete at the District Level.

Lamb & Goat Show - Saturday

RULES: 1. Open to exhibitors of all ages. 2. Entry fees are $2 per class. 3. Each exhibitor must have a valid membership with the Warren

Agricultural Society - Adult $5, Youth free. 4. All animals should be on the grounds by 9am for show registration. 5. Show starts at 9:30am. 6. All animals must be properly tethered and/or penned. Limited pens are

available on a first come/first served basis. 7. Exhibitors to park in designated areas only. 8. Exhibitors are responsible for any damage, injury or liabilities caused

by their livestock. 9. All sheep must have C.S.I.P. identification tags in their ear upon arrival

at the fairgrounds. 10.Purebred (registration papers are not required) and crossbred animals

are allowed. 11.Sheep and goats may be shown in halter/harness if the exhibitor is

under 12 years of age or where specified. 12.All goats to be shown with a collar. 13.All meat breeds (sheep) should be shorn 2 weeks or less prior to show. 14.All livestock must be clean, healthy and well groomed or be subject to

disqualification by the Judge. 15.Clean, neat attire is recommended for all exhibitors.

Rabbit and Poultry Show - Sunday Rules:

1. Entry fee $1 per section 2. Each exhibitor must have a valid membersip with the Warren Agricultural Society: Adult $5,

Youth free 3. Entry form:

List the Variety (one entry per line) ie: Chicken, Turkey, Duck, etc List the Breed - Muscovy, Orpington etc. Indicate Cock (c), Hen (H), Cockerel (CKL), Pullet (P), Laying Hen Display (LH), Meat Pen (MP) C & H are considered older than one year and CKL & P less than one year. LH & MP have no age requirement.

4. Laying Bird Display consists of at least 2 laying hens of the same breed. A Met Pen disply consists of 2 or more meat birds of the same breed.

5. During judging, the aisles are closed to all except judges and show personnel. 6. No one may handle birds except judges, show committee members and owners. 7. No advertising, signs or business cards on exhibition coops until judging is complete. 8. Exhibits must be healthy. Any livestock showing evidence of illness will be removed. 9. The Warren Agricultural Society is not responsible for any losses, accidents or damage

throughout the show. Every precaution will be taken to ensure incidents do not occur. 10.Livestock must remain on display until 4pm. 11.Limit of 3 entries per section.

LIGHT HORSE SHOW GENERAL RULES:

1. Membership in the Warren Horse Club (an extension of the Warren Agricultural Society) is required. Weekend $10, Single Person Season $35, Family Season $50, Barn Season (limit of 5 competitors) $100

2. Entry is $5 per class entry except Lead line $4 and Jackpot Barrels $10 3. Speed classes have 45% payback 4. Youth are 18 yrs and under 5. We are following the Western Horse Association of Ontario patterns. 6. In barrel racing, a knocked down barrel will result in a 5 second penalty. 7.
