Delhi, being the capital city of the country has always been and is still one of the favourite tourist
destinations among the visitors from the different parts of the globe. The reasons could be traced
back and accounted to one of the best transportation facilities and the presence of varied beautiful
monuments of historical value that the city inherits in its vicinity. It, in turn, poses a great
responsibility for each employee of the organization to work with their responsibilities to promote
Delhi as a best tourist destination.
Sh. Arvind Chandra takes over as General Manager of DTTDC
Shri Arvind Chandran, DANICS took over as the General Manager of Delhi Tourism on 1st
November, 2017. He succeeded Dr. Pooja Joshi, DANICS, holding the charge as General
Manager of Delhi Tourism from 5th September, 2016 till 31st October, 2017. Sh. Arvind is a
Chartered Accountant and MBA (Finance) from Vanderbilt University, USA. He is also a certified
Public Accountant. Prior to joining Delhi Tourism, he served as Registrar in the Guru Gobind Singh
Indraprastha University and Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology, Delhi. He has served in
different departments of the NCT of Delhi and also the Union Territories of Daman and Diu and the
Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Ministry of Women & Child Welfare organized 15 day long unique Exhibition at Dilli Haat,
I.N.A.

Foreign Tourists also visited the stalls during the exhibition organized by Ministry of Women & Child Welfare at Dilli Haat, I.N.A.
Upholding the main aim to empower the women folks of every section of the society and be self-
dependent in their lives, the Ministry of Women & Child Welfare, Government of India,
organized a 15 days long exuberant exhibition held in the premises of Dilli Haat, I.N.A. from 1 to
15 October, 2017. The exhibition depicted various handicrafts items and products prepared by the
women groups from the different parts of the country.

cultural performances

Taking up the responsibility and honour to be the Host City for the year’s most happening sports
gala event - FIFA - U-17 World Cup India - 2017, Delhi Tourism organized a plethora of various
colourful cultural performances to welcome the Delegates for the sports extravaganza at Delhi’s
one of the most happening and favourite hangout points - Dilli Haat, I.N.A. from 5 to 12 October,
2017.

Decorated in a stunningly beautiful way, the venue succeeded in attracting favourably a large
number of visitors too towards its vicinity.

3 D display of Football at Dilli Haat, I.N.A.
Giving its endeavour a sporty look, this year, Delhi Tourism partnered itself to and took an honour
to be the Host City for the FIFA - U-17 World Cup India - 2017 held at Jawahar Lal Nehru
Stadium, New Delhi on 6th, 9th, 12th and 16th October, 2017.
Organized by All India Football Federation Under-17 World Cup in association with the Ministry of
Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, the year’s mega event also entertained the
delegates and the visitors by throwing open a plethora of varied mesmerizing and soul-soothing
cultural performances at Dilli Haat, I.N.A.

In order to make the mega sporting event a hit among the Delhiites of all ages, Delhi Tourism took
an extensive publicity of FIFA through the Street Furnitures and Publicity Panels which adorned
Dilli Haats & Garden of Five Senses, Project Sites and Hop On - Hop Off (HO-HO) Bus Coaches.
Deep Utsav at Dilli Haat, Janakpuri

Delhi Tourism dazzled up its Dilli Haat, Janakpuri with mesmerizing colourful lights and flower
decorations as it got ready to organize the year’s most awaited event - "Deep Utsav - 2017" held
from 13 to 15 October, 2017 to celebrate the festival of lights - Diwali.
Organized with full enthusiasm and craze, the 3 day long exuberant cultural extravaganza offered
Delhiites of all ages a number of different beautiful artefacts and handicrafts items ranging from
traditional earthen Diyas, lamps, candles, floating candles, pooja thalis, idols of Lord Ganesh &
Goddess Laxmi and other gift items which were made available for sale during the festival to shop
for in order to make their Diwali brighter and happier.
Children took their share of Camel Rides during Deep Utsav - 2017 at Dilli Haat, Janakpuri.
Besides this, the fiesta also adorned the evenings by showcasing a number of cultural
performances by the artists from Sahitya Kala Parishad and Punjabi Academy.

(27 to 29 October, 2017)
Dilli Haat, Pitampura witnessed year’s most happening Bhangra performances during Punjabi Mehfil - 2017.
Dilli Haat, Pitampura grooved up in style to organize the year’s most rocking “Punjabi Mehfil -
2017”, a one of its kinds most energetic 3 day long cultural gala held from 27 to 29 October,
2017 organized by Delhi Tourism, in association with Delhi Kalyan Samiti.
Visitors enjoyed rocking Punjabi performances during Punjabi Mehfil - 2017 held at Dilli Haat, Pitampura.
Being one of the most rocking events of the year, the venue allured and attracted favourably a
huge turn out by the visitors of all ages by offering them a perfect chance to get their photos
clicked by dressing up themselves in proper traditional outfits ranging from Lacha-Cholis, Kurta-
Pyjamas, Sherwanis, etc., that added to make the event more traditional and glorified.
Punjabi Mehfil - 2017 showcased the electrifying Gidda performances by the artists at Dilli Haat, Pitampura.
Besides organizing a number of vivid cultural performances like Bhangra & Gidda Performances,
the fiesta also threw open a number of tastiest delicacies of Punjab viz., Makke Di Roti - Sarson
Da Saag, Chhole Bhature, Rajma Chawal, traditional Punjabi Sweets, Lassi, Chhachh, etc., that
lead the visitors feel the real aroma of traditional Punjabi culture during Punjabi Mehfil at Dilli
Haat - Pitampura.

2017” at Dilli Haat, I.N.A. from 1 to 15 November - 2017.
Visitors enjoyed shopping for the unique artefacts during Shilpotsav - 2017 held Dilli Haat, I.N.A.
Registering their participations, a total of 118 stalls got their spaces booked for the artisans
assisted by the different Apex Corporations namely National Backward Classes Finance &
Development Corporation (NBCFDC), National Scheduled Caste Finance & Development
Corporation (NSFDC), National Handicapped Finance & Development Corporation (NHFDC),
National Safai Karamchari Finance & Development Corporation (NSKFDC) and National
Trust under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and showcased a number of products
