house, I realize, too late, that there is water in the tray and it spills out on the carpet. Now I’m yelling for my wife to quickly bring towels to clean it up and by this point I am ready to blow a gasket that would power any rocket to "infinity and beyond"! Well, that is how I was last year. This year was a little differ- ent. At the designated time, I start- ed this yearly project. I got my fin- gers in the right place, I got my breath, I lifted the window and I watched the air-conditioner slip out from my fingers and fall 20 feet into one of our favorite rose bushes. Mind you, the neighbors truck was barely missed by the air-conditioner projectile. The air-conditioner hits the ground and blows up in a nucle- ar fashion that would make Myth- Busters proud . To add emphasis, it BLEW UP! Now I have a choice, sin against God and man or thank God that I didn't get hurt, that my roses seem fine and that the neighbors truck was missed? I just laughed with joy. What would you do? Just Around The Corner... The Theme: Are You Living The Christian Lifestyle... Well, having taken Chemo- therapy for as long as I (Dan Schmucker) have, I have had a pharmacy of drugs put in me, one of which is Decadron. A very strong steroid. It is a corticosteroid that is similar to a natural hormone pro- duced by your adrenal glands. This drug has made me very irritable and, at times, angry. It also has another side effect, hyperness. While being hyper, I got no- tions to do things that I should ask for help on, but end up deciding to do these things on my own when no human-being should even con- sider it. So I decided to take out the air-conditioner from the attic window. Well this should be a simple job, (at least in my mind it was), I just needed to grab a hold of the air-conditioner with one hand, then push up the window with my other hand, at an angle that the window is not designed to go. Then I just had to quickly reach back through the spider web and grab the back of the unit to precariously hold it so it doesn't fall. I then lifted the unit with no strength while trying to fig- ure out how to slide the unit into the house across the lip of the win- dow sill that was keeping it in place. Finally, as I bring it into the $7 a Quart...can be purchased that day by bowl or quart, but to order in advance fill out Worship Bulletin insert, call / email the LBA Office. Be a lively ChristianA man once told a pastor that he wanted to become a member of the church. "But," he said,"I'm very busy, so don't ask me to join a committee, teach a class or sing in the choir. Spareme from anything that would take up my time, and don't be surprised if I'm not in worship
very often."The pastor thought for a moment, and then replied, "I believe you're at the wrong church. The
church you're looking for is 10 blocks down the street."The man followed the pastor's directions and soon came to an abandoned, boarded-up church
building. It was a dead church - out of business.
Many times we are asked, “Who is my
deacon?”
To help you, we will list the Deacon of the Week
and his list of families in the WLBC Bulletin —
ENewsletter. There will be a complete list posted
on the bulletin board near the church office. This
complete list is alphabetical by your last name.
We hope this will help you know who your deacon
is for the year. If you have any questions, please
feel free to contact the church office.
