Eleanor was born in NEW YORK CITY, NY in 1884.
At age 10, she moved in with her Grandmother.
She could have been characterized as shy, quiet, and lonely.

She returned to New York at age 17.
Volunteer Work Teaching at Community Center Focus on the Underclass
Franklin- they were 5th cousins and were married in 1905.
She became his eye, ears and legs.

She campaigned for Franklin in his New York Gubernatorial and Presidential Campaigns.
They moved to WASHINGTON DC in 1932 where she would live as First Lady of the US.

Eleanor changed the nations views of the First Lady by writing a column named “My Day” which made the American People feel like they knew her.
LIFE AFTER THE WHITE HOUSE Mrs. Roosevelt’s time in the White House was suddenly over with the passing of FDR in1945.
She then was asked to be the US Representative to the United Nations in NEW YORK CITY, NY.
She served there under Presidents Truman and Kennedy.
While there she helped write the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
She was well known overall for her humanitarianism and work for to better the lives of everyone, everywhere.
