Sue DeStephano President/CEO | First Capital Federal Credit Union

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Management and Staff at First Capital Federal Credit Union, we warmly welcome the members of West York Area School District Employees Federal Credit Union (WYASDEFCU)!

On May 6, 2020, the members from WYASDEFCU overwhelmingly approved a merger with First Capital. The Board of Directors from both credit unions have mutually agreed that this partnership is a tremedous opportunity to create more value to your membership. At First Capital, we are pleased to offer you a full array of banking products and services to serve all your financial needs including free checking accounts, credit and debit cards, auto loans, mortgages, mobile and online banking, mobile check deposit, and much more.

All three employees from WYASDEFCU have decided to retire and start the very exciting next phase of their life. We would like to congratulate and thank Bill, Patty and Judy for all of their years of service in the credit union industry. I am confident that the decision to bring together our two credit unions will mean a secure and promising future for our members. I appreciate your support and confidence as we move forward together!

The Path ForwardAlthough times are uncertain, the First Capital team is here to support you. We are financially strong and we will continue to weather this storm together. We are committed to keeping our branches, contact center and ATMs open to serve you.

Our focus is keeping our employees and our members safe. As a member-owned cooperative, we are, and always will be, here for our members in good times, but especially during challenging times. This is why credit unions were created in the first place.

Information around COVID-19 continues to evolve. We will continue to communicate with you during this time and thank you for your understanding and patience as we carve out the path forward together. We remain committed to serving our members and our community, and we never take for granted the trust you have put in us as your financial institution.

Welcome!

Stay well and safe!

Along with the Contactless card, we will also be introducing a Digital Wallet. This will allow you to store your credit cards, debit cards, loyalty cards, and even coupons in digital form on your mobile device. Through this wallet you will be able to access Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Visa Checkout, and more. Look for these new enhancements this summer.

As social distancing and virtual and digital alternatives become the new norm, First Capital continues to look for ways to take your banking experience to the next level. In the coming months, we will be rolling out Contactless Debit Cards. As your debit card expires, you will receive a new Contactless card. What that means is you can pay with a single tap at many of your favorite merchants, negating the need to hand over your card to the clerk.

During the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, while many other businesses were closed, First Capital was on the financial frontlines, making sure you had access to your money and helping members with emergency assistance and other loans. But it was First Capital’s Business Services Team, that worked ‘round the clock to help make sure our small business members received help through the Small Business Administration’s Payment Protection Program. During this time, we funded 43 PPP loans.

First Cap Gives Back is our charitable giving program in which employees nominate organizations that are near and dear to their hearts for First Capital to consider giving financial support. Not only does this program allow us to support our local community, it allows our employees to have a voice in which organizations we support.

The 2nd Q. partner we had chosen to support was the York County Food Bank. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, First Capital was unable to hold the food drive originally planned. Instead, First Capital donated $500 to the York County Food Bank to use towards the purchase of food for those in need.

For 3rd Quarter, First Capital pledges to donate money to local organizations to help our community get back on its feet.
