Game Style
• Game is a detective game where the player investigates microbial problems.
• Player is presented with many ideas or theories which are confirmed or contradicted by evidence.
• Story and puzzle based game • Has “microbe vision” which allows player to see
bugs • Can perform 3 mini-game tests which can be
used to identify microbes
Game Process
• Player is given missions by “Big C” who is the boss.
• The player and Alyx (scientist) fly to locations • They interview people and look for physical clues • By finding clues, the story moves on. • At the end of the mission, the player is asked a
series of questions by Big C that can be used to confirm knowledge gain
Game Back Story
• A call has come in to e-Bug HQ. • A famous actor has fallen very ill and his security
people suspect a deliberate act of poison • Big C dispatches the player and Alyx to
investigate.

• Hygiene • Spread of infection • Introduction to microbes
Mechanics
• Hand, Respiratory and Food Hygiene o Infection can be spread through unclean hands
o Hand washing can prevent the spread of infection
o Infection can be spread through sneezing and coughing
o Sneezing or coughing in your hand can still spread infection
o Microbes can be found on our food and can transfer to humans
o Cooking food properly can kill harmful microbes

Mission 2
• Mission 2 introduces a ‘superbug’ • Aim is for the player to identify that in places where
there is high antibiotic misuse, resistant bugs are present
• Story starts off in an airport where one person (Allison) was on a flight with someone sick with the bug.
• The player visits a site of good practice and a site of bad practice and finds clues that show why the ‘bad’ practice is bad
• Later, the player performs a ‘mini game’ that shows that the superbug is different because it isn’t killed by the normal antibiotics

• Mission 3 connects poor antibiotic use to real world behavior.
• The story involves • Sports team fallen ill • Sabotage suspected but not the case • Allison (from last mission) stopped taking
antibiotics, causing her illness to come back. • She gave water to sports team, spreading bug • Her coach took her antibiotics for a virus and
now has bad diarrhea
