ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The department of Mechanical Engineering, S.K.P. Engineering
College, isorganizing an international conference on "Design and
Advances in MechanicalEngineering." Emerging trends of new
technologies in the scenario of globalizationand modernization, the
computer aided engineering and simulation tools forsolving
mechanical Engineering problems at various levels starting from
materialdesign to complex manufacturing system is inevitable. In
this context, thisconference will provide a platform in expressing
application trends, progress andfuture course of computer aided
engineering & simulation in MechanicalEngineering. The
Conference will include plenary sessions, keynote lectures
andtechnical sessions.
SCOPE AND THEME OF THE CONFERENCE
The aim of this conference is to provide an interdisciplinary
forum for engineers,researchers and student technocrats to discuss
and promote research andtechnology transfer of design and advances
in Mechanical Engineering.The conference focuses on fundamental
research and computational tool related todesign and advances in
Mechanical Engineering. And this comes at an appropriatetime when
the whole world is moving towards innovation. The objective
ofICDAAME-2011 is to establish an effective channel of
communication among thosein academia, industry and others concerned
with computer application inmechanical engineering researches like
innovative and intelligent design ofengineering products,
processes, materials, mechanisms and other advancedsystems. It is
hoped that at the end of the conference there will be possible
solutionsand conclusions on the challenges emerging out of the

CALL FOR PAPERS
Authors are required to send a soft copy of the extended
abstract of original andunpublished research work through email to
[email protected]. Theextended abstract should be limited to
two A4 size pages including text, figures,tables and references. It
should be in MS word or PDF format with 1.5 line spacing(12 pt
Times New Roman). The authors should mention their affiliation
withaddresses, e-mail, telephone and fax numbers. Acceptance of the
abstracts will becommunicated to the corresponding author (to be
indicated in the abstract). Uponacceptance, the authors have to
submit the full paper as per the conference formatto be given
later. The final acceptance of the paper for oral presentation,
inclusionin the proceedings or poster presentation will be based on
peer review.
Maximum of 8-10 articles will be published as special issue in
the followingjournals IJMMM (International Journal of
Manufacturing, Materials andMechanical Engineering, NOVA
Publishers, USA), JMIM (Journal of Mechatronicsand Intelligent

The department of mechanical engineering is established in 2003
and is endowedwith well qualified and experienced faculties who are

department offers undergraduatesin Mechanical Engineering and post
graduate in CAD/CAM. A center of excellencein Advanced Design
Studies has been established in the department aiming topromote
research activites Modern facilities are established with the state
of the artcomputers and software tools like CATIA, ADAMS, DELMIA,
PRO-E, ANSYS,NASTRAN, DYATRAN, PATRAN and SAMCEF to carry out
modeling andsimulation studies.
TIRUVANNAMALAI THE CITY OF HOLINESS
The college is situated in a beautiful hillock inTiruvannamalai
district. It is about 185 kms fromChennai and 210 kms from
Bangalore. It is also wellconnected with train services to Katpadi,
Chennai andTirupathi. The climatic condition of the town ismoderate
and it is a pilgrimage temple city ofTamilnadu. Tiruvannamalai is
known for theAnnamalaiyar temple which is located at the foot of
the Annamalai hill and oneamongst the greatest Shiva Temples of
India. Sathanur Dam across ThenpennaiRiver is a tourist place near
Tiruvannamalai.
