Introduction.... the ugly shape and the way ,computers looked, was exactly what designer Apostol Tnokovski was feeling when he decided to create the smallest PC ever made..... It’s not going to be like a PDA, it’s going to be a PC with all conventional components (mouse, keyboard, normal screen). The concept PC is called E-Ball and it’s shaped like a sphere because in Tnokovski’s opinion this is the best shape in nature and it draws everybody’s attention.
Basic concept
E Ball is designed that pc is be placed on two stands, opens by pressing and holding the two buttons located on each side of the E-Ball pc , this pc is the latest concept technology. The E-Ball is a sphere shaped computer concept which is the smallest design among all the laptops and desktops have ever made.
Size of E-Ball• E-Ball is very small,
it is having only 6 inch diameter sphere.
• It is having 120×120mm motherboard.
Elements of E-Ball
WorkingE Ball concept pc don't have any external display
unit, it has a button when you press this button a projector will pop and it focus the computer screen on the wall which can be adjusted with navigation keys. The projector
It has a laser keyboard that is fully a concept keyboard that is visible when the pc is in working. The keyboard is not physical - it is interpreted by lasers that appear after you press the respective button.
The software interface of E-Ball concept pc is highly stylized with icons that can be remembered easily that support all type of windows operating system.
...what if there is no wall?
• When we are working in an open place we can make use of a paper sheet as a screen.
• paper sheet holder is placed at the back panel of this computer.
• The holder can be opened by pressing it in the lower part
Virtual Keyboard The basic concept is the use of principle of
Artificial Intelligence and Sensor Technology. A laser or beamer projects visible virtual keyboard onto level surface.
The projection is realized via three modules: Projection module Sensor module Illumination module
Virtual keyboard contd… The E-ball project a second (invisible infrared)
beam above the virtual keyboard. The user's finger makes a keystroke on the virtual keyboard. This breaks the infrared beam and reflects light back to the projector. The reflected beam passes through an infrared filter to the camera. The camera photographs the angle of incoming infrared light. The sensor chip determines where infrared beam was broken. Software determines the action or character to be generated.
Optical Mouse An Optical Computer Mouse uses a
light source, typically an LED, and a light detector, such as an array of photodiodes, to detect movement relative to a surface. It is an alternative to the mechanical mouse, which uses moving parts to sense motion.
Features Now let us see some of the features of E-ball technology:
It has 350-600GB of Hard Disk Drive It consists of wireless optical mouse, LCD or DLP projector and
laser keyboard It contains 5GB RAM HD DVD Recorder It contains LAN and WLAN card and a Web cam It has two 50W speakers I-tech Virtual keyboard LCD projector paper holder Dual core processor Integrated graphics and sound card
Advantages• It is portable.• It has large memory space.• It is very useful for video
presentations. • It supports greater speed.• It supports User-Defined
keyboard layouts.
Drawbacks • Other OS can’t work in
these computers, except Windows.
• Processor• Cost of E-Ball is very
high.• It is difficult to
understand ,if any problems occur in hardware components.
ConclusionThis E-ball Pc will be proved to be the most handy and wonderfully designed computer , as it comes into market . It will take the computer technology
into new horizons .
