Subject:- Regarding entitlement of enhanced family pension payable to the family of a Government employee who dies in harness. Sir/Madam, I am directed to invite a reference to Government letter no. 3/39/09-3FPPC/944, dated the 25th July, 2011, on the subject cited above and to say that the Governor of Punjab is pleased to decide further as under: - 2. The rate of family pension in respect of employees who die in harness, during the first fifteen years from the date of death or till the Government employee would have attained the age of sixty five had he survived, whichever period is less, shall be as follows,:- Pay in the Revised Pay Structure Rate of Enhanced Family Pension per mensem Pay upto Rs. 10,000 60% of pay Pay above Rs. 10,000 50% of pay subject to minimum ofRs. 6000 3. The rate of family pension in respect of employees who die in harness, after first fifteen years from the date of his death or till the Government employee would have attained the age of sixty five had he survived, whichever period is less, shall be as follows» Pay in the Revised Pay Structure Rate of Enhanced Family Pension per mens em Pay upto Rs. 10,000 40% of pay Pay above Rs. 10,000 30% of pay subject to minimum ofRs. 4000 4. These enhanced rates mentioned in para 2 above shall not apply in those cases where the period of ten years for payment of enhanced family pension, in terms of para 2 of the letter under reference, stood completed before the first day of December, 2011 and the family was receiving family pension at the rates mentioned in para 3 thereof. 5. These orders shall come into force w.e.fOl-12-2011. 6. The other provisions of the letter under reference shall remain unchanged. 7. Necessary amendment(s) in the rules will be made in due course. 8. I am directed to invite a reference to Government letter no. 3/39/09-3FPPC/944, dated the
