Isoniazid is used alone or with other drugs to treat tube r culosis (T B) and to prevent it in people who have had contact with tuberculosis bacteria. Isoniazid and other antituberculosis drugs usually taken up by people six to twelve months. Usual dosage: A dult with active tuberculosis 5mg/kg ( up to 300 mg) IM or orally OD 15 mg/kg (up to 900 mg) 2 to 3 times a week Children with active tuberculosis 10 to 20 mg/kg (up t o 300 mg/day) IM or orally OD.
