The Duro Dyne family recently mourned the loss of a longtime, beloved, member. Susan DeSimini passed away suddenly on August 24 Susan was Administrative Assistant to CEO Randy Hinden for 19 years. She was also Editor-in-Chief of Good Times for many of those years. Susan was hard-working, smart and meticulous in every- thing she undertook. She treated Duro Dyne as if it were her own business. We’ll miss her. Duro Dyne is the Greatest Name in Sheet Metal Necessities. Of course, much of that is due to our excellent products, and superb customer service. We have always maintained that we have very loyal, satisfied, customers. However, equally important to us are our dedicated employees. According to the US Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median number of years workers are at their current job is under five years. At Duro Dyne, we have always prided our- selves on having employee tenure much greater than most businesses today. The average tenure of our employees is greater than 10 years. Some of our longer term employees have been with Duro Dyne for more than 30 years. Duro Dyne is a family business. My father, Milton Hinden, started Duro Dyne, and the third genera- tion of the Hinden family has already entered the business. In our office, sales force and factory, aside from long-term employees, we have had many members of the same families working for Duro Dyne, as well as many families where a second generation has worked for the company. When we refer to the people of Duro Dyne as a family, sometimes it just feels that way, and some- times, it really is true. We not only work well to- gether we truly care about each other, and each of our families, as well. This extends to many of our distributors and customers, too. As we enter the holiday season, beginning with Thanksgiving, we take a moment to express grat- itude for all of our blessings.
