Principal’s Report What a great day it was last Friday. We had the launch of our Friday school program, combined with a visit from the Kingscliff Mini School. Thanks to Lindy and the other teachers from the Mini School for bringing their beauti- fully behaved students to visit us. The day was a huge success and all visi- tors were very impressed with our school’s beautiful environment and the friendly and welcoming reception they received. As usual a most frequently quoted comment was that people didn’t know we were here! We are delighted to welcome our 5 new students to Friday school, watch out in the next newsletter we will introduce them and include a photograph. I’d also like to thank the parents who ran the barbeque. We completely ran out of food due to the numerous visitors. (Everybody left feeling very well fed). Thanks also to Jack Spratts Butchers in Tweed Heads South for sup- plying the sausages extremely cheaply. They were delicious. I really rec- ommend them to you, they support the school repeatedly and also have selected deli items that are hard to find elsewhere. Meg and Jed also made a great contribution to the day with our well run face painting. I love meeting up with past students and seeing how they are doing. I’m proud to say that the majority of our students are doing very well at high school. Last week was National Volunteers Week. On behalf of the staff and stu- dents I would like to acknowledge the great work of our volunteers. Nearly all of our volunteers are not obliged to volunteer but do so out of the good- ness of their hearts. A big thank you to Fay, Julie, Victoria, Brigette, Luke and Glenda. You are appreciated. Finally welcome back to Vicki. Vicki is being supported back to work by Alexis Malcolm in promptly getting the return to work program in place. Alexis is the Occupational Health and Safety manager for our area. Next week I shall be away at the Primary Principals’ Assoc. Meeting in Ballina. These meetings are important to keep abreast of what is happening across education in times of constant change.
