If you do, then ACT-SO! ACT-SO is a major youth initiative of the NAACP that provides a forum for African American youth to demonstrate their academic, artistic, scientific, and business expertise. Students receive mentoring to prepare for the March competition where they compete for medals and cash prizes. Student Eligibility Requirements Be a high school student of African descent Be a citizen or legal resident of the United States Be an amateur (having not received wages for professional services) in the category of the ACT-SO competition Attend one of following Orientation Sessions with parent Sat., Aug. 23rd 2-4PM* Oswego East HS, Oswego Sun., Aug. 24 th 3-5PM College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd, Glen Ellyn Sat., Sept. 20th 12-1:30PM** College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd, Glen Ellyn *This Orientation Session follows the NAACP College Readiness Fair held 8AM-2PM at Oswego East HS. **This Orientation Session will be followed by our regular monthly Enrichment Session (2 - 5 pm) for students and parents.
