Dudley People’s Parliament
Meet some of our
Dudley MPs Hi, I am Issy Brant and I am
18. I'm chairperson for Dudley People’s
Parliament. I became an MP because I feel that
people with disabilities are sometimes treated unfairly by
'normal' people and professionals.
I am Judy Alcock and I became an MP as I want to help people
get into paid work. I am very hard working, an excellent typist
and I want to speak out to make sure people with leaning
disabilities have the same chances as everyone else in life.
My name is Simon Hare. I believe everyone has a right to work
and a right to speak their minds. I am a Dudley MP because I
want to speak for everyone with a disability and help them get
work.
I'm Paula Little. I want to be an MP to help people get a job to
earn money, make new friends and help recruit more MPs. I like
acting and listening to music. I like spending my own
money. I'm looking forward to meeting David Cameron!

Andrea Pope-Smith, Director of Adult, Community & Housing Services in Dudley welcomes the People's Parliament in Dudley
"This is a great opportunity to raise the profile of these challenging issues and work in real partnership with people with a learning disability. The Right to Work is something that is important to us all and we need to do everything we can to ensure people with a learning disability have that right to".
Councillor Steve Waltho, Cabinet Member for Adult and Community Services said,:
"Dudley Council is pleased to work together with the People's Parliament to bring real tangible benefits to people with a learning disability and to employers. We will do whatever it takes to make sure everyone has the opportunity to bring their range of skills, talents and abilities
