Dualog Connection Suite Ship – Quick Installation Guide
Dualog® Connection Suite™ is a complete web-based e-mail, data transfer and management solution. Connection Suite provides robust, highly optimised communication and centralised management of users and data irrespective of communication equipment or communication method.
a. Media with Connection Suite (setup.exe) on one of the following:
CD / DVD Memory Stick Other Media / Disk
b. Start Pack
The “Start Pack” file (normally named <ship name>.dsp) contains configuration and user data etc. The file is either supplied on your software CD/DVD or separate media. If an Internet connection is available, the file can be downloaded from www.dualog.net.
c. User Name and Password
To access the Connection Suite user interface a user name (your Connection Suite e-mail address) and password is required.
2 Starting the Installation
a. From CD/DVD
Insert the disk – if the installation does not start automatically launch “runmenu.exe” from the root of the CD/DVD – e.g. via Windows Explorer.
b. From other media
Launch “runmenu.exe” from the root of the installation image - e.g. via Windows Explorer

a. From the Dualog installation menu select “Dualog Software” followed by “Connection Suite Ship version [version no.] (Install / Upgrade)”:
Note: You may be prompted (by your web browser) regarding Internet / Intranet security before the installation file (setup.exe) is copied from the installation image and started.
b. Make sure that antivirus and Internet security software is disabled before proceeding, and press "Yes" to proceed:

e. If required, click “Browse” to change the default software installation folder. Click “Next” to install the Dualog software into the “Destination Folder”:
Note: Installer will check for available space on target disk and a warning will be displayed if less than recommended space is available. Recommended space is not the same as required minimum for running Connection Suite. Less than recommended space can be used in certain configurations. If unsure, contact Dualog support.

f. The installation system will now check the availability of IP port 80 (the default port for web sites / browsing). If the port is available then click “Yes” to configure the Dualog web interface to use port 80:
Note: If port 80 is not available then you will be prompted to selected and alternative. The installation system will check the availability of each port that you select as an alternative.
g. If required, click "..." to change the default mail store location. Click "Next" to use the selected location for IMAP mail store:

i. The installers for the individual components will now be extracted:
Note: This might take some time. During installation process you will be prompted to select whether DuaCore Pro component should be installed or not. Click "Yes" to proceed (this choice can be reversed after installation if necessary):
j. When extraction (of the installers) is complete you will be prompted regarding the installation of Oracle. Click “OK” to continue:

m. The Oracle installer will display a “Choose Destination Location” dialogue. Ensure that the destination folder is “C:\Dualog\oraclexe\” then click “Next” to continue the installation of Oracle:
n. Enter (and confirm) a password for Administrator access to the Oracle database then click “Next” to continue. If only Dualog will use the Oracle database (as is most often the case) then the password is arbitrary so “password” can be used:

p. When the Oracle installation is complete the Oracle installer will display a “Complete” dialogue. Click (to turn off) the option “Launch the Database homepage” then click “Finish”:
q. The Dualog installer (when it detects the completion of the Oracle installer) will initialise the database:
When the Dualog database schema has been created the Dualog installer will display a “Database initialisation OK” dialogue. Click “Next” to continue:

r. When the software installation is complete and the database initiailised the Dualog installer will prompt for the site-specific “Start Pack” file. Click the “…” button to browse for the “Start Pack” file (normally named “sitename_ver.dsp”) and then click “Next” to continue:
s. In the final phase of the installation the “Start Pack” data is inserted into the Oracle database, the Dualog services are configured and then launched. Duaing this phase a small dialogue is displayed indicating progress – e.g:

If installation of DuaCore Pro was selected in step i and the target system is Windows XP or 2003, one or more Windows Logo signature warnings will pop up. Click "Continue Anyway" on every one that pops up.
t. Depending on which other Windows applications were running during the installation you might be prompted to restart the computer:
Note: If you are prompted to restart the computer then it is important that you do so before using the Dualog software.

4 After Installation Your Dualog Connection Suite system will be configured with the settings supplied in the “Start Pack” comprising one or more of the following:
Communication equipment and communication methods
User groups
Users and e-mail accounts
Least cost routing and communication schedule
Automatic file transfer (“DataSync”)
The following Dualog Connection Suite software Services will run automatically:

Dualog IMAP Server A Dualog implementation of IMAP server
Dualog LDAP Server Provides address book information to Dualog HTTP mail and other e-mail clients that support LDAP
Dualog Web4Sea Server Advanced Web proxy
Dualog Web Server Serves users’ web browsers providing the main Dualog user interface
Dualog Port Mapper Provides low level communication services to other Dualog software components
Dualog Service Manager The main Dualog application that switches e-mail messages and services e-mail clients via SMTP / POP / IMAP
Dualog Apache Server A Dualog implementation of the Apache web server that provides users’ web browsers with the Dualog HTTP mail interface
