...THAT MAKE VAL-MATIC DUAL DISC CHECK VALVE COSTEFFICIENT & RELIABLE
With todays demanding systemrequirements, engineers must specifypiping components that are bothCOST EFFICIENT and RELIABLE. Thedesign of the Val-Matic DUAL DISC Check Valve answers those n eeds byi n c o r p o r a t i n g m a n y u n i q u echaracteristics not found in similarcheck valves. 2 - 12 (50 -300mm)valves include Ductile Iron construc-tion, with a 250 psi (17.2 BAR), coldworking pressure rating. They are UL/
FM approved and available in Wafer(ANSI 125, ISO PN10, ISO PN16) andGrooved End IPS connections. Sizes14 (350mm) and larger are availablein cast and ductile iron.
INSTALLATION COST: Choosebetween compact wafer designto minimize space requirements orgrooved end for ease of installation. Both provide low initial installation costand minimal maintenance. Thefollowing quality features you expect
from Val-Matic can be found in boththe wafer and grooved end valves.
OPERATING COST: Carefulattention to inlet contouring andstreamlined flow design, combinedwith an expansive flow area, resultin unusually low pressure losscharacteristics. The resulting lowpower consumption translates intodollar savings throughout the longlife of the valve.
PRODUCT RELIABILITY: Designfeatures such as Lift and Pivot Disc
Action, Disc Seal Overlap, PressureSensitive Seating, Stabilization Spheres,Disc Stabilization, and Flow SensitiveClosure, combined with carefulselection of materials of construction, reflect Val-Matics efforts to build aquality valve. These efforts result ina COST EFFICIENT and RELIABLEproduct that will provide many yearsof trouble free service.
LIFT AND PIVOT DISC ACTION: This feature, designed to give longervalve life, is activated during theopening and closing cycles. It works bya combination of clearance betweenthe pivot pin and disc bores, and theplacement of the legs of the torsionspring. With this design the disc willalways lift first at the pivot on opening, and not return until the disc is closed, preventing wear between disc and seatsurfaces.
STABILIZATION SPHERES: Theseresilient, synthetic spheres inserted intothe pivot and stop pin holes are com-pressed against the pins and effectivelystabilize them during flow conditions, eliminating vibration and wear.
PRESSURE SENSITIVE SEATING:This design provides for minimum disc-to-seat contact at low pressures, andmaximum contact at high pressuresresulting in positive seating at all timeswithout seal destruction.
DISC STABILIZATION: When valve is fully open, the discare p o s i t i o n e d o n a s l i g ha n g l e , causing the flow velocity toforce the discsfirmly againstthe stop pin.The ensuingvector forcesact to stabilizethe disc duringflow conditionsthereby pre-venting exces-sive wear dueto disc flutter.
DISC SEAL OVERLAP: Conbetween the seal and the disc isuniquely designed to eliminateindentation ridges found in designswhich do not
allow the discto fully overlapthe seal. Inden-tation ridgescaused by valvedesigns withdiscs smaller indiameter thanthe seal canresult in valveleakage.
FLOW SENSITIVE CLOSURE:The torsion spring closes the valvewhen the flow is reduced, preventingflow reversal and lessening thepotential for water hammer normallyassociated with conventional swingcheck valves.
