Upon receiving your complete application documents, the Oice of International Aairs (OIA) FEB UGM will process the issuance of your Letter of Oer (LO) from UGM. In the LO you will be requested to settle a non-refundable student service fees before a specific deadline. The amount of the non-refundable student service fees depends on your length of exchange program. Details on the fees are provided below.

For "free movers" (international student of non-FEB UGM or non-UGM partner universities wishing to study at FEB UGM or international students of UGM or FEB UGM partner universities who have already been over-quota) will have to settle the payment of tuition fee and student service fees as follows:

During the process of LoA issuance from UGM, at the same time, the Oice of International Aairs UGM will process your study permit from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. Please do aware that this process may take up to two months until the study permit is issued. While your documents are being processed, OIA FEB UGM will provide you with one package of information such as the oered courses, academic regulation, student buddy, etc.

Once the study permit is issued, OIA UGM will assist you in the process of the issuance of visa authorization (calling visa) from the Oice of Directorate General of Indonesian Immigration in Jakarta. This process will inquire you in which Indonesian embassy or consulate general that you are wishing to apply for the Limited Stay Visa (VITAS/Visa Ijin Tinggal Terbatas). The issuance of visa authorization provides the permission to a particular Indonesian embassy orconsulate general for the issuance of your VITAS. This visa will allow you to stay in Indonesia for the duration of six to twelve months. Please do aware that the combine process for the study permit and VITAS approval will take three to four months.

Once your visa authorization is issued by the Oice of Indonesian Immigration, OIA FEB UGM will email the receipt of your visa authorization. This receipt is an important document for you to apply for VITAS in the chosen Indonesian embassy/consulate general. As the VITAS requirements may change without prior notice, it is necessary for you to make a call to your chosen Indonesian embassy/consulate general and inquire about the necessary documents that needed to be submitted. We do understand the complexity involved withthis VITAS process, however, even though there is any other visa available for you to apply namely the Social and Cultural Visit Visa (Visa Kunjungan Sosial dan Budaya/VKSB) or the Visa on Arrival (VoA) for tourists, we strongly recommend you to only enter Indonesia by using VITAS.

If under any circumstances it is inevitable for you to use VKSB, you must be strongly aware that it is important for you to go to Yogyakarta Immigration Oice every month to extend your visa. As VKSB will only allow you to have a total stay at the maximum of six months

The Indonesian immigration regulation is very strict. It is very important for you to note that no later than 7 (seven) days of your arrival in Indonesia you are required to make a report to the Yogyakarta Immigration Oice. Late report will not be tolerated by the Immigration Oice. Therefore, arranging your flight schedule to fly directly to Yogyakarta from your home country is essential. Once the report is made, your VITAS will be converted into a limited stay card/KITAS or also commonly known as the residence permit card.

(even if you have extend your visa every month), therefore aer your stay has reached six months you will be required to leave Indonesia. If you wish to enter Indonesia aer the sixmonth period you will need to apply for a new visa. In this condition as well as considering the costs of time and money for the monthly visa extension that may not benefit your study, thus we strongly not recommend any student to use this visa unless any other options are not available.
