NOTIFICATION
Sub: Guidelines and Schedule of admission to various
under-graduate courses for theacademic session 2015'20 16.
The following guidelines and Schedule of admission to various
undergraduatecourses in regular colleges for the academic session
2015-2016 shall be followed byall concerned:
Candidates interested in seeking admission to the undergraduate
courses in theUniversity are required to fill the common
pre-admission form either online oroffline for all categories
(General/OBC/SC/ST/PwD). This is mandatory for allcandidates. There
will be no pre-admission form at the college level.
The candidates are allowed to fill only one common pre-admission
form either onlineor offline.
The college is free to publish its prospectus which may provide
informationregarding the college, the courses offered and the
number of seats in each course, feestructure, Sports, Extra
Curricular Activities etc. No forms of any nature,pre-admission as
well as admission, shall be included in the prospectus
orsold/provided with the prospectus or otherwise before the
announcement of cut-offlists.
There shall be no 'Additional Eligibility Criterion' for any
category in anycollege/course.
The colleges who wish to give specific advantage to girl
students [upto 3%o only) inany course must inform the office of
Dean Students' Welfare along with the data oflast two years for
justification of the same. This relaxation shall be included in
theUndergraduate Information Bulletin, uploaded on the University
website. TheColleges are also required to display this information
on their website as well. Thecolleges are not permitted to change
this criterion at any stage during the entireadmission process.

6. The colleges shall convey the cut-off marks for the various
courses (for the General/OBC/SC /ST /PWD categories) to the Office
of Registrar, as per the scheduleannounced by the University. The
college shall determine the cut-off marksprudently on the basis of
the past experience and the class XII results of the SchoolBoards.
The office of Dean Students' Welfare shall make available the
informationregarding the results of various School Boards
(whichever are available) to thecolleges.
7. The University on receiving the cut-off marks from the
various colleges will collatethe data in the office of Registrar
and notif,i the same through print and electronicmedia as per
schedule. The cut-offs will also be displayed on the University
Web-site[http://du.ac.in), college website and college notice
board.
B. The colleges shall admit all the candidates who have
percentage that meet theannounced cut-off criteria. No
first-come-first served policy is permitted.
9. After declaration of the cut off lists by the University, the
candidate will need toreport to the college of his/her choice for
admission within the stipulated period. Atthis stage, the candidate
would be required to fill the college admission form and
theUniversity enrolment form. The candidate would then get his/her
documentsverified, submit the same to the college and pay the
admission fees.
[a] The candidates who could not take admission in a cut-off
list could beconsidered for admission in the immediate next list
only on the last date ofadmission provided seats are available in
the college/course.
(b) For Boards, like IB, whose results are declared late,
candidates may beconsidered in whichever cut-off list their results
are declared subject toavailability of seats, provided the
candidate had completed pre-registrationprocess.
The colleges shall retain the certificates of the candidate
during the admissionprocess and shall promptly return the documents
in case, he/she cancels hisadmission or has to appear in counseling
of any other university/ institute or inorder to move to another
college on declaration of a subsequent cut off lists.
No student will be allowed to take admission in two
courses/collegessimultaneously. In case, a candidate is found
admitted in two courses/collegessimultaneously, the admission in
all courses/iolleges will be cancelled.

13. The colleges shall follow the University guidelines with
respect to gap year policy:Gap year[s) would be no bar for purposes
of admission to the undergraduatecourses.
L4. The University will organize open days in order to
disseminate information onvarious admission related aspects and
also to answer any queries that the studentsmay have. The colleges
are free to organize open days at their end and to set up helplines
and web based assistance.
15. For admission under the reserved categories of
Children/Widows of eligible ArmedForces Personnel/Kashmiri
Migrants, the admission process shall continue to becentralized and
conducted at the University level by the office of foint
Registrar[Academic). The schedule of registration/admission for
admission under thesecategories shall be notified on the
University's Website w]t{wduaq*n,
L6. All those candidates who are covered under any of the
categories of reservation forchildren of Armed Forces
Personnel/Kashmiri Migrants must register separatelyonline/ offline
if they wish to be considered for any other category[Gen./o B
C/SC/ST/PwD).
t7. For courses where admissions are done through entrance
examinations, separateprocedures shall apply.
18. The procedure for calculation of Best of Four percentage
fwherein admission isdone on the basis of Best of FourJ is outlined
in Annexure-I.
For admission under the Sports and ECA (Extra Curricular
Activities)categories, the colleges may use their own Sports/ECA
application forms.These application forms shall be made available
by the concerned college. Theadmission to these categories shall be
on the basis of guidelines issued by theUniversity. The guidelines
for admission on the basis of sports are outlined
inAnnexure-II.

The colleges are advised to videograph the events and maintain
records. Otherguidelines remain unchanged.
The University shall set up Special Admission Assistance Teams
and Monitoring Committeeswhich will visit colleges throughout the
admission process for extending assistance tostudents and
monitoring the entire admission process.
The colleges are required to constitute their own College/Deptt.
Grievance Committeesconsisting of at least three teachers. The
Members of the Grievance Committee so nominatedshould also be
available in the College throughout the admission process. The
details of theGrievance Committee members including their contact
numbers [Mobile No.) should be puton the College Website and on
college Notice Board.
The data of all candidates who are admitted in colleges must be
made available on regularbasis on college website immediately. The
same may be compiled and sent to the Universityfor information
within a week of last date of admission.
Last date of admission for undergraduate courses will be 14
August 2015.
The Special Scholarship Scheme of the Government of India for
creation of 2 supernumeraryseats for the students of f ammu &
Kashmir shall be implemented for all regular three
yearundergraduate courses. Admission under this Scheme shall be
made directly by the collegesconcerned on the basis of the
Provisional Admission Slips issued by the All India Council
ofTechnical Education (AICTE) subject to verification of the
required documents.
25. The University reserves the right to initiate changes' in
the courses of study of theundergraduate courses.

Admission to Science Courses
The Basis of Selection for Mathematical Sciences/Science/Home
Science courses remainsunchanged. However the subjects to be
included for Basis of Selection (PCM/PCB/PCMB)must have at least
70o/o component of theory exams (theory exam does not include
internalassessment/continuous evaluation etc.) in the qualifying
exam otherwise a disadvantage of10o/o of the maximum marks may be

The Colleges will conduct and videb-graph the Sports Trials.
Maxirnurn 50 Marks are, for Sports Trials whiph include skill
test, gameperformance test, game specific fitness, fundamentals of
the game / sport etc.
i. Minimum 18 marks are required to: be obtained by the
candidate in the SportsTrials for admission on the basis'of
Sports.Evaluation and Marking shall be'done by thetechnical hands
of Sports AdmissionCommittee.
E. Composition of the Sports Admission Committee:

2. The list of finally selected candidates containing,marks of
the Sports Trials andSports Certificates alongwith course/subject
allotted shall be displayed beforeadmitting on the College Website
and Notice board for three days to takecognizance of the
grievances, if any.
3. Candidate having grievances should apply to Grievancq
Committee of the College.Every College shall have its own Grievance
Comrnittee, the information aboutwhich shall be displayed on the
Notice Board of the College" If necessary, thecandidate may apply
to the Grievance Committee of the North or South
Campussubsequently. There will be two Admission Grievance
Committees one for theNorth Campus located in the Dean Students'
Welfare Office and another for theSouth Campus located in the JoinU

4. An Undertaking on Judicial Stamp paper of Rs. 100/- shall be
submitted by theselected sportspersons at the time of admission
stating that helshe will play for theCollege and University, all
