Temperature Rise Control
The transformer has incorporated in it a temperature rise control wich protects itself against an unacceptable heating level. The causes for overheating ar due to high environmental temperatures, poor ventilation or overload.
Having a properly control of the temperature in the windings, its posible to maximize the power of the transformer without shortening its useful life. To perform this control, a temperature sensor is placed within each low voltage sensor.
The sensors are resistance PT100 with three wires, and they are wired to a terminal block on the transformer. The heat resistance at ambient temperature is 110 ohms approximately.

Installation
The Cast Resine dry tipe Transformers have a degree of protection IP00 and they are suitable for indoor installations. In case of being necessary its outdoor installation, it must be protected by a minimun degree enclosure IP23, which has enough ventilation and shelter from the rain. The easiness of its installation and connection, in addition to the simple requirements of the room that hostes it, makes the Cast Resine dry tipe Transformers, the right solution for the current energy needs, fulfilling with the highest standards of personal security and environment.
It is recommended a clean environment with dry air, in order to achieve a minimun maintenance. To prevent accidental contact, the transformer can be enclosed by a tissue of 10x10 mm subjected with iron frames, observing the electric distances (specified in the Chart). This ones must be also kept regarding the proctections and the conductors that circundates the transformers, in order to avoid posible discharges.

Ventilation
When designing the ventilation in the transformer´s room, it must be taken in account its loosses: Pt Wo + Wcc
These losses are manifested as heat, modifying the ambient temperature of the room. The standards IEC 60726 – IRAM 2276 set the Dry Transformers´ normal conditions of service. For an altitude above 1000m above sea. The cooling air´s temperature wont be in any case above 40°C nor less than -25°C for outdoors transformers or 5°C for indoor transformers.
Further, the air temperature wont be in any case above:
• 30° C for average daily temperature • 20° C for average anual temperature
The most simple and reliable solution is to achieve a natural ventilation of the room, allowing the entry of fresh air in the bottom and an exit in the opposite top. If the natural ventilation was insufficient, fans could be installed increasing this way the airflow keeping the environmental conditions within the standards.

Load
The Dry-Cast Transformers class F can be overload for a limited time, according to standards IEC 60905-IRAM 2464
The value of the overload can be known having as a fact the initial charge, the ambient temperature and the duration of it. For a Dry-Cast Transformers, class F and a constant of time of 1 hour (see load curves)
Application example Considering the initial data, what amount of load can be applied to a transformer?
Tp = 2 hours
Ta = 20 oC
K1 = 0,85
Using chart of drawing of the overload capacity, and tracing a vertical line from the horizontal axis up to cutting the 2 hours time curve, a K2 value of 1,25 is obtained in the vertical axis.
The overload allowance is 1,25 times the transformer rated current during 2 hours. That time elapsed, the initial charge rating is reestablished for the 22 hours resting of the 24 hours period time.

Impregnated Dry Type Transformers
Features Magnetic core made of grain oriented silicon steel with low specific losses.
Coil windings insulated with nomex,
impregnated with F type varnish.
The windings are built in complete layers without spaces, in order to eliminate possible shifts in electrodynamic efforts.
The whole (core and windings) are strongly compressed to guarantee a safe and silent performance.
The metallic support elements are
electrolytically galvanized. (zinc)
The protection cabinets (Protective Housing) are built according to the stardards IEC 529- IRAM 2444, in iron sheet, with natural ventilation. The air enters from the slotted bottom and gets out from a labyrinth between the side and the roof.
The cabinet is design based on a
lateral envelope bolted to the bottom with a removable roof. It has two sheet metal profiles folded as a fixing base with holes for anchoring, ringbolts on the top for lifting and moving.
The hole is degreased, phosphated

Reactors and Inductors
Features
The Half and Low Voltage Reactors, Cast Resin or Impregnated, are design and manufactured according to the customers´ specific requirements.
The Cast Resin Reactors, due to our
manufacturing technic, have no crack defects nor “cast (capping) defects”. The round or rectangular reactors, made of copper or aluminum, insulated with fiberglass are coiled on isolated layers by glass fabrics on a cylindrical shape. The design of our coils offers an excellent distribution of voltages and extreme resistance to short-circuit efforts. The epoxi resin used for the cast (encapsulation) is from type F and it permeates the fiberglass insulation, making up an homogeneus and resistant compound. This feature liberate them from partial discharges and prevents the thermal craking. Regarding the connections of the coil, are molded in one piece, making up epoxy-glass insulators. In case of being required a resistance for outdoor instalation, it is used a cycloaliphatic epoxy resin.
In the case of Impregnated Reactors,
they are suitable for both indoor or outdoor installation. They are constructed with of aluminum or copper plates, insulated with glass tape and impregnated with resin. The construction technic ensures an exellent mechanical resistance to the short-circuit efforts and a uniform insulation system in type F (155°C). The diferenr performances allow the assembly of the support insulators in any position and with a variety of conection possibilities.
