Rebuilding Pantheon? Again?! By: Rend Ghussin and Kimberly Branham

This article will tell you about the Pantheon, maybe things you don’t know and (kai) some plans architects are planning on changing about the Pantheon.

The Pantheon was built in 27-25 BC and it was (en) 150 feet tall, 150 feet wide originally built by Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa, which is the son-in-law of Augustus, the first Roman Emperor. After the war it was rebuilt by Emperor Hadrian in 126 AD. The style of the Pantheon was just the original ancient Roman style,

with large Corinthian columns that takes four tourists to hug around one column. There are 16 columns each forty feet tall. The Pantheon is the best preserved temple. It was made to be dedicated to all gods (this). Romans wanted to be with all the gods and respect all gods(pros-ton-the-on).The reason the pantheon has a hole in the middle of it, is because the hole is to let out smoke from sacred worshiping. The word (holo-gos) “Pantheon”, is a Greek word meaning “to honor all Gods”. It also has two kings of Italy buried there, the pantheon is a very important place.

It seems to be that the Romans made a mistake in building the Pantheon because it has an extra roof right on top of the entrance. Architects don’t know for sure that it was a mistake or on purpose but they

are designing a new Pantheon. They are planning on rising the columns and entrance higher so it’s all leveled and just the dome is higher. The columns are going to be even higher than 40 feet, maybe even 60 to 70 feet tall. Will Romans be happy if Architects suddenly change the most preserved temple from the ancient time? What do you think should they make these changes? Maybe the changes will make the Pantheon look better and give it a nice design and something the people in future centuries will enjoy and remember.

Currently the Pantheon is a church. People go there just for viewing and looking around and not really for worshiping anymore. The reason the pantheon stayed standing today was because it got turned into a church so people still wanted it standing today.

This article had many facts that you probably did not know about the pantheon. You've learned Roman words, some plans that are happening soon to the Pantheon and just about the Pantheon in general. The beloved Pantheon is going to be changed soon.
