Adults v. Minors
• Adults are legally defined as 18 years or older
• Minors are under the age of 18– Minors are legally bound to their parents or
guardians
License ClassClass C
• You may drive: • any normal passenger
vehicle • any house-car( RVs), 40
feet or less.• a vanpool vehicle,
designed to carry more than 10 but less than 15 persons
License ClassesClass B
• You may drive: - any bus (except a trailer bus) - any farm labor vehicle - all vehicles under Class C
Driver LicenseClass A
• You may drive any legal combination of vehicles, including vehicles under Classes B and C.
Minors’ Permit Requirements
• Be at least 15 ½ (under 18)
• Complete the DL application
• Have a parent with you
• Pass traffic laws and road signs test
Minor’s Permit Restrictions
• Practice with licensed adult 25 yrs of age or older
• You CANNOT drive alone with a permit!
Minors’ License Requirements
• At least 16 yrs old
• Completion of Driver Education and Driver Training
• Held a Permit for six months
• Parents signature stating completion of 50 hours of training
• Pass the behind the wheel test
Minors’ License Restrictions
• During first 12 months– Cannot drive between 11pm – 5am– Cannot transport passengers
under 18 (without adult)
